A few questions regarding templates and fictional league player generation

Is there a way to apply a template when creating a new game, but force the game to repopulate the game world with players and coaches? I have a template I created with the league structure/rules/etc. I want, including custom percentages for national origin of the players (I wanted more of a 1980's feel). But when I import the template, I'm stuck with rosters that were generated under the default MLB nationality percentages. So I created a new template after dumping all of the players and coaches into FA, and then deleting them all. But when I use this template in a new game, the league starts with no players or coaches. I can generate them, but it seems this has to be done league by league, there's no option to populate the entire game world. Is there any downside to populating the game world league by league and generating new free agents?

What I don't understand is how the game knew to generate the fictional players when I first created the game (which had the default MLB nationality percentages) but before I saved it as a template, but with the template it "knows" not to fill everything up when I start a new game.

Do I just have to suck it up and create the league structure from scratch again without templates, and remember to adjust the player nationality percentages before starting?

Thanks.

was the template made during the game creation process or after creation?

if you made it after creation, try making a template during game creating and see if that works as you want with recreating players each time. i think it should.

otherwise, if you made it during the creation process and it still keeps the same players, you can try to following process:

you can select all mlb players (include minor leaguers?) and delete them. then use the fill rosters with fictional players function. that will refill mlb teams to roster limit.

if you want new minors, you have to repeat that process (filling) for each minor league - assuming you deleted them all with the mlb players, previously.

i'd leave the free agents for balance and player population. i don't know how to recreate the FA.

That's the only way i know.
