Start as rookies?

I am looking at building a historical league with actual players but want to build it with a majority of players at their rookie years. The caveat is that I don't want to use teams form different seasons to prevent overlap of same players in different years. What is the best way to do that? Not the greatest with excel.....

would it be easier to just add the teams and delete any duplicate players?
