I'd like to know what is the best setting to have a good realism (Trade/Lineup/Promotion)
I want to use something to have stats much more important than ratings but I heard that when you do that, you can have a lot of expensive extension and unbalanced trade. Any idea for me? Ratings Weight = ? Current Year Stats Weight = ? Previous Year Stats Weight = ? 2 Years Ago Stats Weight = ? |

Mine's set at 10/50/30/10. I find that that keeping a little bit of ratings makes for the most realistic AI - to me, it simulates that "gut feeling" about certain players. Others will staunchly support 0/67/22/11, and many others are fine with the default. You'll never get a 100% consensus. Everyone likes their game set up differently. So my advice is to try a few different settings, and see what you like the best. You'll come to learn your own preferences over time. |

As I answered in your other thread, I always use AI Eval. Scouting is set to Low; many will advise you to go with Very Low; many are fine with Normal or even High. It really depends on how much of a challenge you want.

your league's stats will do better (ceterus paribus, normal scouting or better) if ai eval is off and use pure ratings. that is a certainty for 2015, i can not attest to anythign else.
i know this because i accidentally left ai eval off (pure ratings) and i was simming many many 2015's to hone the totals modifiers. i wanted the added error because managers do not always make the best decisions in RL and therefore i wanted to match that uncertainty while honing league total modifiers. i was quite livid about wasting hours of my time, lol. when i turned ai eval on (35 35-20-10) league-wide stats went down noticeably. so as far as picking lineups is concerned, ai eval is not as good as pure ratings when it comes to statistical output of your league - however very low scouting accuracy might be similar. also, maybe that's just not a concern. so, i would bet that if they pick better players for the lineups, they probably pick better players for trades, too. i see ai eval as just one more way to take advantage of the AI in trades. i go back and forth about using it. so, it just depends on how you want it to be. don't worry about others. certainly don't trust them without trying both ways yourself. start simming some throwaway leagues and peruse their transaction log for as long as you need to get a good idea. I just have a question about how the ai evaluation works.
For the Current Year Stats Weight, is there a minimum number of plate appearances needed to qualify (to make sure someone who stated the season with a few good games doesn't get massively overrated)? Thanks. |

best realistic setting
The min may be 500 PA or AB not sure.
I have no clue for pitchers. Also note that the settings are prorated and ratings are used when there is mot enough stats to use. Last edited by SirMichaelJordan; 06-19-2015 at 11:08 AM. |
