Wow!!

This game continues to impress. My #1 starter, who missed almost all of last season with a torn rotator cuff just pitched an opening day perfect game on the road. Unreal!! And this after a pretty underwhelming spring training.

88 pitches and 9 Ks must have a lot of first pitch outs. Impressive ... Never broke 92 pitches in a complete game. I do wonder what the record is in real life. I know the most is like 170 pitches for complete game but the lest would be interesting in itself.

Congratulations on getting your player back just in time and he had to have been hungry to play after a year being away WOOHOO

Thanks for bringing this up as you made me curious about how he accomplished this in so few pitches. Here's the pitches he threw innings 5-9

5th inning - 8 pitches
6th inning - 10 pitches
7th inning - 8 pitches
8th inning - 9 pitches
9th inning - 8 pitches

FYI, he is not usually an efficient pitcher. Go figure!!

I think 58 By Red Barrett. The BR boxscore doesn't have pitch counts but multiple sources say 58. Game time 1 hour 15 minutes.
