Can You Change the Playoff Schedule?
I am using OOTP15, but got no answer to my question on that forum.
The manual does not address my problem. And my search on the forums did not show anything results. I hope someone on this forum can help me. I use the three-team playoff system... best-two-of three series. #2 vs #3... with #1 getting a bye. I had a two-way tie for third... and also a two-way tie for first. The AI scheduled a single-game playoff between the teams tied for third. Then it just picked one of the teams tied for first and seeded it second... and seeded the other first place team first and gave it a bye. I want them to play a single-game playoff for first place. They tied in the regular season 3-3. Here is what the AI scheduled: #3A vs #3B in a single-game playoff. #1B plays the winner of #4-#3 in a best-of-three-games series. Winner of that series plays #1A in a best-of-three for the league title. Can I use the schedule editor and have the two first-place teams have a single-game playoff and give the winner the bye... the loser would play the winner of the teams tied for third. First, back up your league. Just in case.
![]() I think you should be able to do it. As long as the OOTP-created tie-breaking playoff game hasn't been played yet, try deleting it and scheduling the two games you need (the one between the two teams tied for third and the other between the two teams tied for first). Then advance and see what happens. If it all goes south at least you can revert to your backup and accept what OOTP generates. |
