Playoff Scheduling

Tinkering with the 2-3-2 versus 2-2-1-1-1 format, if you do 2-2-1-1-1, will it schedule an off day for every travel day? How does that work?

Yes, it will. It's the only reason I keep my 7-game series at 2-3-2. I much prefer 2-2-1-1-1, but it doesn't work as well in baseball, what with rotations and everything.

Theoretically, you could schedule your playoffs manually, eliminating the travel days, but I don't like to do that either, since it's not very realistic.

There haven't always been travel days. From 1998-2006 in the Division Series there was no travel day between the fourth and fifth game even though there was a location change. During the 16-team MLB years, the World Series did not use travel days if the host cities of the contesting clubs were not too far apart.
