Add International Players Question
Hopefully this question makes sense... Is there anyway to add the real players from Cuba, Japan, etc. without either adding the underlying international leagues or adding the leagues and deleting the leagues to release the players?
I want to have the real players available for MLB additions, but I've noticed that if I add the international leagues it significantly slows down the game (simulating for the additional leagues). Strangely, I've also noticed that if I add the leagues at the beginning of the game and then delete the leagues to keep the players the simulation is still slowed down to the extent that you would believe that OOTP is still simulating hundreds of games in the background. Ideally, I want the players to be dropped into the FA pool without the background noise. (Note, I have a brand new Mac, so it shouldn't be a problem with the processor) Thanks for any thoughts |

alternatively, could i create a fictional league with about 30 teams but that has all players in existence available without creating the league with all other leagues, and deleting the other leagues to dump the players?
thx |

Next, go to the MLB quickstart or whatever league has all the IFAs you want to add and put those IFAs on a MLB team so they are easy to find. Then export those rosters as well and open both the MLB rosters and your league's rosters in Excel. Find the IFAs in the MLB rosters and in your league's rosters, find the created free agents. You'll want to look at both rosters side-by-side so it's easier to copy and paste the info you need from one file to the other. In the MLB rosters, copy all the IFAs info from Column E through Column EQ and then paste that info over the created FAs in the same columns. Save your league's rosters as a csv file in the import_export folder which you opened them from and then re-import the rosters into the game. The IFAs will show up as free agents. |

There is no DB for Cuban or Japanese players so no, you won't be able to get the real players in.
You can get fictional IFA's however, by going to league setup, player tab, and enabling IFA's then setting the amount you want entering each year. |

No, you can add those players. You can add the international leagues to any real world league you create and those leagues have the real players in them.

Delete the leagues. All the players become free agents. Teams are gone. You now have the real players as free agents and not the teams, but a lot of excess coaches in the available coach arena. |

ahhh. i'm going to try this... stack all the international players that matter onto one team and save that team. import that team into your league and delete it resulting in the players becoming FAs.
