Projected Lineups for 2015 Season -- Rostersets?

Here's one thing that really frustrates me about OOTP: every year when the game comes out, I wait until the Opening Day roster set/patch is released. I then have to spend the time going through all 30 teams and editing their lineups to reflect the projected lineups for the year. I then backup this game and restore from it anytime I want to start a new game with a new team.

For example, take the Cardinals: in the OOTP roster, Mark Reynolds is batting 2nd against lefties... even though Jason Heyward is expected to hit #2 all year. Does this happen because, regardless of what lineups are set in a quickstart game, the AI will alter the lineups on game creation?

I realize that after simming these lineups are going to be altered anyway (since injuries will happen and the AI will start adjusting lineups for CPU teams), but it's really nice to start a new game with a new team and not have to alter the lineups. I have to do this every time, and every time it's a chore. Is creating a "starter franchise" and backing it up on the first day of the season, and then restoring from it anytime I want to start a new game the only way to address this?

It seems to me like this would be an extremely common problem -- that many, many people find themselves doing this when starting from a quickstart game. Am I missing something? Is there a better way of going about this? Thanks for any tips or suggestions...

Nah, I doubt there are that many people as [removed] as you appear to be

Thank you for the worthless reply with mindless extrapolation about my personality.

We are talking about a game that lets you set simulation modifiers to three decimal places, and it's considered "anal" to desire accurate lineups? Give me a ****ing break.

I don't see the point in editing all AI teams linueps unless you plan on controlling all teams.

There is a option to disable the AI for all 30 teams without creating managers for them all.

I don't really have any tips for you, sorry.

We don't actually set the lineups in the quickstart, since as you say, the ai will simply change them anyway. It's the same with the 40 man rosters. As much as we shoot for perfect accuracy in the roster set, there are just some things we can't achieve, as the game wants to do things its own way

That was an inappropriate response and I gave ezpkns34 a warning for it. There's no need for you to escalate the situation though. Thanks.

Thanks for the clarification.

It's a small annoyance, just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing anything silly or overlooking an obvious solution.

I did the same thing as you did last year, altering the lineups and making a quick start as a template for other leagues. Each time I started simming a year, I disabled AI player movement for the first few games or the first series. After that, injuries happen in game that didn't happen IRL, so I enabled AI player movement. They make a flurry of roster moves, and change their lineups, but it's a simulation.

I do like to start it off as it does IRL. I don't know if the AI factors in managers' lineup building tendencies, or where players have historically batted (i.e.Pedroia 2nd or 3rd in Boston). Maybe if it could reflect Opening Day MLB depth charts?
