Can I see who CPU is Warming Up?

Hi all,

When I am playing out a game live, with the pitching "warmup" requirement on, is there a way I can see who the computer is warming up? It seems like if I go into their pitching lineup/substitutions they never have anybody in there, but then an RP will magically appear out of nowhere. It also only seems to tell me about the RP after I have chosen "swing away" for the whole at-bat. Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong?

The computer doesn't use the warm-up function. All of their relievers come in warm.

Thanks for the info. I'm sure that they did it that way for a reason, but I for one wish the CPU would have to warm up pitchers like the rest of us schlubs!

You're not alone. Personally, I don't really care about the warm-up function, so I'd have it off anyway, but it really should be added for CPU teams.

The down side would be endless posts about the AI manager getting the wrong guys up at the wrong time.

My impression is that the AI can't anticipate two innings ahead. It goes with pitcher A until certain criteria occur then it goes with pitcher B. It doesn't have two potential pitcher B's, unless one accepts that a pinch hitter prompting a different pitcher B is anticipation.

Even one batter ahead of a switch would be helpful...

It was obviously done this way for convenience, but it's just not right.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.
