In game injury substitutions
This has bugged me for multiple versions. I think I mentioned it in the general forum before, but I think it's time for me to push to actually get it changed in a future version.
When a defensive player gets injured during the play that results in the final out of the inning, you shouldn't be required to put in a substitute until a) that players turn at bat comes up or b) your team takes the field again. For example, if my pitcher gets injured while recording the final out, the game currently forces me to declare a substitute immediately. If the pitcher is due to bat 4th in the inning I either have to put a position player in his place who may never bat that inning, or I could put a pitcher in his place, but may need to pinch hit for him before he ever plays. |

This would actually be a really good improvement, especially if your league doesn't utilize DHs.

The same goes in the other direction... if a player gets injured making an out on offense, you shouldn't have to replace him until it is time to take the field or until he is up to bat again.

I was just coming on to mention this exact thing. It's irritating.
Not sure if ejections are included, but the same would apply to ejections. |

Ejections are included.
I suspect this happens due to the game not being able to cope with an empty lineup/pitching spot while in-game. Just a suspicion though. |

Yes, that is my understanding. I've always wondered if a ghost player could be created/used to fill the spot until a sub is actually needed. This is a long term issue.
I once used a tired, not to be used RP to fill a spot so I could PH a different player than the one I would have had to use. Too much work.

I'll hijack this thread to add one of my own ideas, because it's what I thought the title referred to: it would be nice to have a "exit sim for injury." My general practice is to sim the first few innings of a game, and also to sim out the end of a game if it's not close. My manager settings can take care of any strategy, but it's always annoying to see someone got hurt in the third inning and my manager put in the "wrong" guy.
