Question about the next roster update
Will teams' 40 man rosters be updated? I know the 25 man rosters are not set as the AI changes those. However as far as I can tell, nearly every team in the game has an incomplete 40 man (except for the White Sox) as of the last build. The Mets have 26 players on their 40 man, several are below 30. Most are around 31.

No they won't be updated.
If we update the 40 mans, it creates weird ai behavior. The ai immediately waives and dfa's all the guys it thinks shouldn't be on the 40 man and adds the guys it thinks should. So you get tons of guys passing through waivers, even good prospects. It's really best just to let the ai deal with the 40's as it sees fit. |

It would be fun.
Just turn off Waviers then it can't do that. |

How about removing Kris Bryant from the Cubs' 40 man roster as IRL. It's been a source of controversy that he's been sent to AAA and not added to the 40 man roster until 12 days have passed.

40 man rosters are a work in progress, it really doesn't matter unless they are rule 5 eligible ,Bryant being or not being on the 40-man is a media/players union controversy not a baseball controversy. The players union is basically saying hey, this guy is good you can't do that, he'll be eligible for free agency a year later..the fact is, they can do that and litigation would have been futile.
Bryant was never removed from the 40man roster, he was never on it in the first place, the only way to get a guy off your 40man once he's there is to waive him

But for me the only way to get him off the 25 or 40 man roster would be in decreasing his ratings or increase the ratings of some other Cubs players, which brings a few problems: 1) Cubs fans and non-Cubs fans would be upset that Bryant was rated low. 2) Non-Cubs fans and Cubs fans might be upset that "Fred Smith or Rob Escobar etc" were rated so highly. The only way to get him off the 25/40 man roster is to give him a short injury that means he fall short of the service time equalling a year. Unless you plan to manage the Cubs in that case just take him of the 25/40 before you hit 'finish today' for the first time. But if he isn't 'fake injured' and you're not controlling the Cubs the AI will more than likely have him on the 25 man roster. Last edited by Doc_Brown; 04-04-2015 at 06:22 PM. |

I really don't want to drop his ratings down any further. I refuse to do this so we can get who, Matt Szczur on the roster. |
