Improving Sim Speed

Any tips on improving the speed of the simulation? I'm running a rather large league (MLB QS with all Intl and Independent leagues) and don't want to have to wait 4 hours for a single season to simulate.

This is a known issue. They say that it would be fixed in Patch 3.

Removing the creation of baseball cards will speed it up a bit.

There's probably other tips as well.

Thanks. I'll try this out. I like the HOF plaques, but have no need for baseball cards in general.

Save less often. Turn off boxscore/game log/replay saving in leagues you don't need them. Lower the stats detail for leagues where you don't need as much detail. Set your antivirus and OS search indexing to ignore the OOTP folders. Turn off baseball cards, as MorseMoose mentioned.

Plaques will still generate with baseball cards off. You can even still generate bb cards manually when they're turned off, via visiting a player's page.

This will definitely help because it takes minutes to create baseball cards. I disable it when I run simulations. I take about 15 minutes to simulate a regular MLB season.

This may or may not be part of your problem but there is an issue primarily with Macs but may also affect PCs that will be fixed in the next patch that is affecting sim speed

Game menu --> Settings Tab --> Auto-Save and Log Settings on the right side.
