How to disable scouting?

I am at St. Louis scouts MLB players 100% and it gets stuck there for a long time that I had to force exit a few times and reload. How do I disable this?

Is this at January 1 and are you running the Steam version?

Granted, it may be a bug or annoying, but I'd be remiss not ask. What's a long time? Sometimes there are areas of the game that just hang for awhile- too long sometimes -but eventually it comes out of it. Oddly, sometimes double-clicking the mouse does it for me, but it does end. In my experience, once you've waited it out, if indeed it works, it will seldom do it again and if it does, it doesn't take as long. FWIW

It has never taken this long. Normally it is very fast but this time it stuck at Cardinals 100% for 15 minutes no matter how many times I reload. Fortunately, after starting a new game, I don't have such a problem.
