Disable automatic HOF induction? Manual HoF vote?

Not spelled out in the manual yet and I'm probably over thinking this but want to make sure it's right before I get to the end of my season. My thought is I check both options which will leave me with the AI doing a HoF vote and me having a vote in the process. No players will be automatically added to the Hall based on targeted stats. Correct?
So to clarify how it does work I ask..

Disable automatic HoF induction does what?

1. Simply turns off the old OOTP way of inducting players? IE players that accumulated the targeted stats for induction were put in the HoF. If not checked players will still be inducted without going through the voting process? If that's the case does it use the milestone numbers to induct or not?

2. Turns off all AI HoF voting? Leaving you with no HoF unless you do manual voting?

Manual voting does what?

1. Is used as the only way for induction if you have automatic induction turned off?

2. Simply adds the human vote to the AI vote in the process?

Thanks.

Edit after having responses to clarify what should and shouldn't be checked...

Thanks for all of the input. The two choices in the menu are...

1. Enable manual HoF voting: Checked if you want to vote

2. Disable automatic HOF induction: UN-checked if you want the AI to vote

My understanding:

Automatic off = no voting of HOF by the game
Manual off = no voting by you

So with Auto off and Manual on, your ballot determines the HOF

There is no more minimum requirements you can set to auto-elect anyone.

No matter what your settings are, you can always induct someone as commissioner from the player's page.

P.S. If you did not know, the HOF is voted on like in real life now with ballots and 75% of the vote is required to be elected.

P.S. #2 Auto on + Manual On and your vote is tallied along with all the rest.

When is the HOF vote? I don't see it on the list of league events or anything.

I believe voting opens 12/8 or thereabouts and results are announced in early January (usually in the first week or so.)

The % to get elected or dropped from the ballot is user adjustable.

League setup, options tab.

Not to upstage QD and BN, but this is what I compiled from Matt's responses when I queried him in another thread. His words:
Quote:
Hall of Fame Options and Calculations

These are the possible setting combinations:
* Default (enable manual and not disable automatic): There are AI voters, and your ballot is folded in with them (you're more than 1 vote, but your vote isn't enough to get a crappy player elected or keep a guy out forever).
* Enable manual + disable automatic: no AI voting, your ballot counts for 100%.
* Not enable manual + not disable automatic: AI voting only - you have no ballot.
* Not enable manual + disable automatic: No players are elected to the Hall. The only way players get in is if you manually induct them in commissioner mode.

HOF results are announced the first week of January - ballots open a month beforehand.

The actual HOF voting is done essentially through certain metrics (JAWS, Black Ink, Gray Ink, HOF Standards, HOF Monitor), along with some other tweaking and adjusting to get the flow of votes year to year you see.

The milestone criteria is essentially used to determine a player's HOF monitor score. Essentially our OOTP HOF monitor gives certain points for reaching those milestones, plus extra points for reaching values above them.

I have Enable manual HOF and disable auto HOF

Just for my personal edification here. Its been said in this thread that manipulating HOF milestone settings would change the HOF monitor ratings. I have played with that and nothing changes.
It sounds like milestone settings wont be too much help since I made it pretty high but not unreachable. I don't like borderline players reaching HOF so easily.

With your settings, no one will get in, except who you vote for......

If you want to keep it a little surprise, but be stricter, you can up the threshold above 75% and/or lower the number of votes each voter gets.

Just a quick question related to this: can I still tally my votes with the A.I. if I am commissioner only (not managing a team in any way)?
