More Quickstarts shipped with game

I'm always seeing interesting ideas for leagues and intriguing set-ups discussed around the boards. Currently, the game ships with four Quick Starts (MLB, all-time greatest, 24 team fictional/10 years history, and MLB 1994. I think it would be really cool and probably very easy to do if volunteers (or perhaps a free game contest or something) were solicited to make Quickstarts of interesting ideas to be included with the game, or to share their current successful leagues as Quickstarts.

I think one thing that intimidates people about OOTP and creating new leagues is the sheer number of options and the amount of testing necessary to make sure the league is going to run properly. I've been playing the game for over a decade and I'm still intimidated to tinker too much. I think it would be a really neat addition if some folks who have already conceived of and extensively tested fun leagues (and who really know what they're doing with options and settings and whatnot) had their leagues included with the game, or in a downloadable pack of certified quality quickstarts from Add-On Central or something.

One that I suggested earlier that would be an easy add would be a "historical" one that starts immediately after the previous year's world series: i.e. If you wanted your team to have outbid the Cubs for Lester, or to have made different Rule 5 picks, etc. you can go back and redo the offseason.

Totally agree that this is crowdsourceable. People are doing the work, we just need to get it more widely shared.

This is a really cool idea. Maybe there could be contest for the user created quickstarts----one voted best wins a copy of OOTP17.

The problem with quick starts is that a lot of us are ripping copyrighted material and altering it.

I can see why there aren't that many shipped with the game.

What if they were just added to Add on Central after the fact?
