I've always had issues, too, but I just figured out how to schedule the game on the date you want even if it's already been scheduled by the computer!

Play to the first day of the preseason. Check the newly created schedule, and you'll find the AS game on there for the first Tuesday in July, REGARDLESS of if you had it scheduled to be held on a certain date or not in the LEAGUE SCHEDULE/OPTIONS menu.

The schedule will generate automatically on the first day of preseason. NOW, go to the LEAGUE SCHEDULE/OPTIONS menu and select the date on which you want the AS game to be held. Presto! It's removed from the first Tuesday and placed on the date you selected!

Related question: Why are my schedules starting in mid-April (for the most part; the one Australia/Japan series is in early April) and ending in mid-October? It's like they don't realize that the Australia/Japan two game series needs to start in late March. I just want a normal schedule year after year!

Sounds like you've somehow got the wrong starting date for your schedule set somewhere.

After you have changed the all star game the first time- as long as their is no further expansion or division changes,
it will keep that date the rest of the years you play. I generally schedule mine in late august (as it allows the computer to seemingly better choose the players who have had the best years, harder to do at the end of june). Never have any schedule problems year in year out/

Of course, depending on your original chosen date you may have to move the games (say around august when I want it) back to july when the all star game was scheduled, but as I say from then on, the schedule has that look to it year in year out

i wish there was an option to tell OOTP to schedule the All Star Game after the season. Then it would automatically schedule the game after championship series. i struggle to try to figure out when to schedule it.
