Question Suffestions not even usesso?

After looking over the info given ion the OOTP5 I've really got losst, I haven't seen anythingo the "Wishe List" put into the game,if I missed some of the grat ideas that lots would like to see in the game, then I'm sorry, but I just don't see them,. So if they are nor here and by the way there were "tons' of grat ones posted,, why waist mine and a lot of others in posting them if they are not going to be used, I see where some are already posting for OOPT6,, will those ideals be uses if they were not used in OOP5?? Now don't "flame me" for saying this ,, yeah OOPT is a great game , I love it but it does have faults,,and if they will not listen to the people buying each year the new game,, then what?? All I'm saying here is, listen to us, there were a lot of great things that could be added, and were not,,if you don't listen,, then maybe just maybe some one out there might just be working on a new and better game,,and maybe they will listen to the games and what they want in it. Now again please don't "flame me" use your own mind .

You have no idea how many ideas and suggestions that we do have, do get and do use. Well certainly the most recent one's are doubtful going to make it due to the fact that v5 has been in development from several months now and the "foundation" is already set. Every now and then "at the last minute" a small feature, etc will make it into the game but nothing of great substance.

From this forum and in OOTP5.

Veteran Rights to Refuse Demotion to the minors
Arbitration
Situational Reliever Use Strategy Setting
Individual Stealing Settings
4 Divisional League Structure
Pinch Hitter Specification
Gold Glove Awards

These are just a few off of the top of my head....

The ideas in this forum are looked at, and are implemented into the game as much as possible.

From looking at your other posts I can respond specifically about some of your ideas that are in the game:

You can tell your runner to go for the extra base some times when it will be a close call.
Pickoffs are in OOTP5

Despite having a difficult time deciphering the original post, I would strongly disagree that nothing from the wishlist has been added to the game.

Both Scott and HolyCow98 listed 11 features that were implemented. In addition, spring training has or will be at least slightly revamped in the first update.

That's 12 things right there, plus the manager mode which several have asked for. So now we're up to 13 things and who knows what's been added that hasn't been revealed.

I apologize to Drow, but I can not understand anyone who comes here and says nothing has been added to the game. I just don't get it.

From what I've seen, I fully expect OOTP5 to be an almost completely different game than OOTP4. So much so, that I will likely not import any OOTP4 leagues into OOTP5, just to take advantage of all of OOTP5's new features.

your new style of punctuation may catch on.

speaking from a personal standpoint, i wanted player development improved, and it is among the things that are touted by the developers as significantly upgraded. that's what i call positive feedback. if i didn't get every upgrade or change i've asked for, a) i don't always know what's best and b) i'm one of thousands of people who care about what changes are made, and my expectations are more reasonable than expecting I will get everything I want as soon as I want it.

If you ask me, that sort of reasonable approach by the fans would have mitigated some of the chaos with TDCB.

What kind of things do you feel are missing?

I know there were probably hundreds or thousands of individual suggestions and wishes so would be unrealistic for all of them to get into one version.

What kind of specific suggestions or wishes did you want in, either yours, or others, that you like that you feel you "wasted" your time on.

I'm interested in hearing them.

"Situational Reliever Use Strategy Setting"

If your ideas generate a lot of support, they'll eventually get heard, and if there is strong demand, possibly implemented. I wanted a left specialist role... didn't quite get that, but if the logic behind the situational reliever strategy is sound, it'll be just as good.

I will go against the grain and say that ideas should be responded to a little more often. Although I am well aware many ideas were put into the game, I don't think it's right to have peoples ideas just die... hell, the lefty thing would have just died if I wasn't intent on being an ******* and bumping it up every few days until it was acknowledged.

I do realize the work the devolopers put in and they may not have much time, but even just some sort of acknowledgement that they read the post would be nice.

Do you guys realize how many posts I would have if I had to acknowledge everything I read?

I typically read (at least skim) 75-80% of the threads on this board, and almost 100% in certain forums (this one included).

I'm not sure its really practical to post "read" in each thread I read... for one it would slow me down as I try to get through everyone's ideas, secondly I already spend too much time at my "real" job reading these boards the extra time to post and then to wait for the flood blocker to time out and post again will probably cause me to get fired.

I was about to say that Scott..

I believe between Scott, Steve, Markus, Joe, and everyone else they pretty much "read" everything. There are way too many for them to comment on each and every one.

Some may get lost in the almost 5000 threads in this forum. And again there would be no way to get every single one in one version of any game. I'm sure they look at it from a popularity/practicality and their own personal ideas as what they would like to see added into the game.

I firmly believe they our aware of the general ideas and wants of the OTTP community. There is no way for everyone to get exactly what they want. I myself have already thought of one thing that I want to see added that isn't in OOTP 5 and that I have posted a couple of times in the past, actually since OOTP 3. I, myself don't feel cheated or that they don't bother to listen to me or whatever.

Trust me, if you want to see things added it in the forum, add comments to threads started by others that is bringing up something similar. If some one else comes up with an idea you like, reply to it, and make your feelings known.

i agree... i hardly ever see anyone from ootp acknowledge any of these suggestions in this forum.. i posted a few and there was a lot of positive feedback from other members... but nothing from anyone on the ootp team...

I have seen markus actually reply in a few on the main forum and get stuff in the game for people... but never seen him post in here..

would be a nice to hear somekind of response though.. even if its one saying our idea stinks! =) That would give us a sense that we arent being ignored.

You aren't being ignored... but it is really impratical for us to acknowledge every thread we read. To illustrate this I will do so for the next hour or so....

read.

doesnt have to be every single thread... but replying to 3 out of 10 would be a huge improvement to what it is now... i just dont see anyone acknowledging any of the suggestions on here.. and its not like theres 20 made a day... if you guys come accross one really good suggestion out of 10 you should acknowledge it... so people dont keep suggesting it over and over.... maybe sticky a thread with a current list being considered...

you guys are great in replying to other forums dont get me wrong.... steve is on all the time helping people out and same with you... just seems like no one replys here...

we read everyone... most of the time we don't reply because we don't want to show favortism towards one idea... and/or we don't know if it will be in the next version and don't want to get someone's hopes up.

I personally reply when I feel I have more to offer to the discussion of the idea. If the original poster fleshed out the idea fully or the discussion has done a good job of it.. there isn't much for me to add other than the fact that I've read the thread.

just like I read this one again.

I would agree totally with what Scott has said, from time to time I will post concerning an idea or suggestion but found it best not to. Just realize that most if not all of the threads get read.

This is what I posted in your other reply:

As I mentioned in the reply to your last post I generally only reply when I feel I have something to offer to the discussion of the idea... so if the idea was already well thought out or the discussion has made it better thought out there isn't much for me to offer to the discussion, so I don't post.

I tend not to reply with just "good idea" type posts, because it doesn't add much to the discussion of the idea, may make some feel like I'm showing favortism to a certain idea, and may give some people the belief that the idea is "definitely" in the next version of the game, when it in actuality may not.

I do read almost every post in the suggestions forum.. and make sure the pass on the ideas that would most easily fit into the game as we get a chance to add them... as does the others associated with the game.

That said I need to get back to work, doing all that posting kept me from getting through half as many of the posts I can normally go through...
