Suggestions for OOTP 16

1.) I'd like to see the reliever shutdown stat (SD) implemented into OOTP 16:

Shutdowns, Not Saves: The Logic and the Leaders from 2014 | FanGraphs Sabermetrics Library

2.) Expansion on Catcher defence, most importantly pitch framing and stealing strikes

IIRC this is already covered by the "Catcher Ability" rating.

yeah i guess it would fall under catcher ability. But knowing that certain catchers had specific pitch framing skills like jose molina or russell martin would add a little more to the rating when it comes to building a team

We know the skill exists but there is little evidence it has a significant effect on winning. I like the understated method currently used pending more evidence.

If we're having AI execute all roster moves, then don't let teams just sit there and lose all their players until they have an "illegal" number of players left.

I've been playing through a sim of MLB from 1893 on. The 1961 expansion draft went fine. The 1962 expansion draft went fine. The 1969 expansion draft went fine.

Then, all of a sudden, in the 78th year of my sim, all of a sudden a bunch of teams have an illegal number of players on their rosters (six or eight). WTF????

Maybe instead of artificial intelligence we should call it actual stupidity.

What's the purpose of allowing teams controlled by AI to lose all of their players? I'm just the commish. Why would it handle all expansion drafts just fine (I also have all levels of minor league teams) and then blow up in 1970?

For the record, I've played the sim form 1893 on, using historical players, but having their careers begin at a random point (e.g. Evan Longoria played from the 1890s to the 1900s).

Why does it DO that???
