Strategy Question

Is there any way to instruct your batters, especially your lead-off batter, to try to work out more walks or just to be more circumspect in pitch selection? I couldn't find anything in this regard in the strategy lists.

Unfortunately there is no way to instruct your leadoff hitters to take more pitches.
There are two ways to ensure this:
1: Sim each game and control the at-bats, which actually puts the AI at a big disadvantage since it does not know how to adjust for this. In real life the pitcher would just keep throwing strikes, but the AI keeps to its programing, so you are "gaming" the system.

2. Always put someone with good eye, avoid K's and OBP ratings as your leadoff man, regardless of his base-stealing ability.
