Rolen17 Roster Set

Hello all, here is an update for the roster set that I have created. I am pretty confident in the quality of the teams. I am going to wait until the end of this week before I submit it to Big City Baseball for publishing. I have corrected the major glitch that I had with Oakland so now that will not be a problem. I am basically waiting for the Winter Meetings to end so that I can have all of the players moved that get shuffled this week since this is the busiest week of the off season. I know that there will be some others that move after this week and I will continue to keep a roster set being updated after that but I figure that everyone can wait 4 more days for the rosters to be in better position.

As an assistant to this roster set, I can tell you, the set looks incredible. Forget the Lahman database, here it is!! The minors are as deep and accuarate as you will see. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, is in there. You will all be giving much props to Rolen when all is said and done!!

Thank you Pete for you kind words and you help with the Yankees. I am just waiting for the Rule V draft to take place tomorrow because I believe there will be a blizzard of activity to follow that as there are many trades and free agent signigns that are very close but no one in the MLB wants to change their 40 man rosters until after the Rule V. Thanks and everyone I am looking forward to putting the rosters out almost as much as you guys are looking forward to getting them. I have put a great deal of time and effort into completing this set and I hope it gets used by every new league on the web.

Ok, tonight I made the Cirillo trade and the Hermansen trade and have decided that it is time for me to put this out there for general use. I am going to keep working on it as more changes take place but I figured that if I did not put it out now, because otherwise it might not happen until January. Please be looking for this on BigCityBaseball first as that is where I plan to have the initial release.

The roster set sounds great...look forward to it!

The baseball meetings really got my juices flowing for baseball again...even my Tigers made some moves...shocking for the people in Detroit...

I've also got a question about these rosters...how is player development and roster management affected by having so many players in the minors...does the computer do a decent job of managing these larger rosters and of making moves according to need?

OK I think I found a way to out smart angelfire for at least a few minutes.

Angelfire will allow you to download files hosted on their servers as long as you are signed in as the owner of the webpage.

So here's how you can get at this until Angelfire shuts the site down.

Rolen17, are you wanting some feedback to help improve the roster set? A cursory look at the Cubs roster showed several names that don't belong there (including several guys who retired, were released, or were traded a few years ago). I know some guys don't care to make changes after they made their files public (which I have never fully understood), but if you are planning to make this a "living" roster set, I would be happy to help you out where I can.

i tried downloading the rosters from the 2nd link posted, but when i tried to use them, the teams didnt appear on the standings and basically theres nothing there. I tried re-downloading it, but nothing happened. Any help would be appreciated, as i've been looking forward to these rosters for a long time.

When you unzip the roster file, do not create a folder. Just unzip it directly into the OOTP3 folder it will create it's own league folder by itself.

Please tell me which players on the Cubs that you have a problem with other than Aguilera, Karchner and Liniak(who might still be in the minors for them)
