Overrated..

Hey everyone, so I recently created a new game and I came across this young catcher on July 1. Wondering if anyone else has seen anyone as highly overrated.

Not really sure how a half star is overrated?

I wouldn't mind him on my team btw.

I meant his future contact rating being 24/20.

You turned on the "overall > MAX" setting in Game Settings. Uncheck that box and that'll be fixed.

I know that, I did that on purpose.

My post was just wondering if anyone else has seen in the player with such a high overrating? I have seen a bunch of 21, and 22, but never anything above that.

Lol, I was confused at first because usually someone overrated means that they are given too much credit for what they can actually do. But yeah, a 24 contact rating is crazy good

Obviously there's a bit of scouting error, but he's got to be at least an 18/20 potential unless your scouts absolutely suck.

I've seen 24 twice besides this. Once posted in another thread and once myself in game.

He's not overrated by much. He is a classic high risk high reward or "big if" player. At one time that could have described half of the Dominican prospects in baseball at 16. He could be a nothing in 3-6-9 months.

In a report he shows as an advanced 16 year old who when he makes contact at this level can hit it a long way. Poor eye/discipline and a high K rate make him a long shot especially if his contact doesn't play at higher levels. If he ever does develop eye and k then... ...

He's not talking about the player being over rated. He's talking about the contact potential being higher than 20. It's confusing.

If he develops and pans out to those, he's a what, .335+/.380/.600 annual player?

I'd be really REALLY tempted to have him in the GCL/AZL at his age. Relativistic ratings would probably say he's ready for those leagues. 7 contact in the majors (out of 20) and 6 power...

But he isn't a starting catcher. I'd convert him to 1B or maybe corner outfielder if his stats out there don't suck, or, (i quite like this role) as a DH, that can play catcher in emergencies.
