Installing Multiple Copies of OOTP On Same Machine?

Specifically, I am thinking of installing a second copy of OOTP 14 in a different directory so I can play in an online league. My current copy of 14 is dedicated to my English league dynasty and has modified database files for that purpose.

Does anyone know for sure whether this can be done?

I've tried this and it didn't work in a Windows machine. I'm no expert so don't take my word for it. AFAIK there are common locations for certain program files in Windows that prevent it. The best you can do is change the locations of league files. I tried internal and external drives, network drives and SSD. The Steam version seems no different.

Here is a money making idea for OOTPD. I would gladly pay a premium for a version that can be run in two separately configured spaces. Maybe the alternate version would be one license X 2 configurations vs the standard 2 licenses X 1 configuration.

Does not work in Windows. Tried it.

So, if I ran two different leagues on the same OOTP copy, I could configure the database files for each game individually to point to a different folder, and keep each game's database files in its own unique folder location?

Just a note...your modified database would not affect your online league files. In effect, you will just be importing and exporting from the commissioner's generated league.

Would running one OOTP game off of an external hard drive be a way around the problem?
