UFA- Submit if officially?
I am in an online league, we run UFA in 5-10 day cycles so after a cycle is complete and the files are posted, I have noticed something.
On players I am leading on the price in FA, it will say favors offer in the off-season FA page. If I click on said players profile and go to contract offer, it shows my offer and says please submit it officially. Will the player sign with me, without me submitting officially if my bid continues to be the best offer for a long period of time or do I have to submit it officially? This seems stupid, I made an offer, why not take it if you like it and no one has topped it? My interest in this is for PRIZE UFAs, if I am leading say 5 years 100mil, and then it says submit it officially...I have a conundrum. Do I submit it officially or do I raise the offer a bit because rival owners have now been informed by this FA of a price that is needed to top the prior bid. |

I could be wrong, but I've always assumed that the player won't accept the offer until I "submit" it. I think I've lost some players by forgetting to hit that button. It seems like an unnecessary step to me, but I guess it gives you one last chance to back out of the deal if you wish.
