Cold hearted or just good buisness?
My starting right fielder had been having a bad year, his second in a row, turning down his option of $12,000,000 seemed like an easy choice.
Now this.. What do I do now? let him go and the fans will turn on me as a big jackass, I doubt he gets that kind of money anywhere else, what about his family? he's only 29. Ugh. |

Give him some gift certificates to the Boathouse and decline his option.

Decline his option, but give him and his family medical insurance coverage for life. In addition, fund a scholarship to his alma mater in his name. Finally, have a day for him next season, and retire his number at the appropriate time.

Depends on how you want to play the game. If your going strictly business then decline his option. if you want to play it a bit more friendly keep him for his option year and hope he wants way less the next.
With MS though I'd think he's going to retire at the end of the season. I don't know how true to life the game is programmed to treat stuff like that but MS isn't curable, and treatments for it suck (I know personally, my uncle had it). Odds are he's going to retire soon. either before the season starts or at the end of the next year. Again though the game gets kind of wonky with stuff like that. He could all the sudden be cured and go on to be a all star. Last edited by ra7c7er; 08-23-2014 at 12:04 AM. |

You could always retire him and make him a manager or hitting coach for one of your minor league teams

You've got a super bummer newsfeed going; what with people filing for bankruptcy and being diagnosed with MS. I never get stories like that. Is that a download or something?

Well, thanks to the Carolina Bulls it is no longer my problem, they gave him a 5 year contract worth 25 mill, the Reds wish him nothing but the best

Can you shortlist him to see what happens to him? I'm interested to know.
