Predraft scouting

So, I never really do it. Maybe that's why I've drafted pretty poorly in the past decade or so. Do you go through and scout the draft prospects leading up to the draft. Thus far, I haven't seen any scouting reports fall outside the star rating of my scout, so I kind of figure there's no point.

Early on in the year, as I accumulate shortlisters from HS and COL, I will scout those players every couple of weeks and particularly when the pool is announced, if they've become eligible. As to the review of those scouted players, I'll compare notes, however briefly, between my scouts and those players with the league dropdown comparison set to R or A just to see how they currently measure up. Once in a great while, the scout will see some marginal progress that is confirmed by changing the measuring stick, so to speak. If you do the latter, don't forget to set it back afterwards or it all is going to appear very out of whack to you. FWIW
