I just recently read 'Only the Ball was White'
It is a fantastic primer on the later days of the Negro Leagues right around the time of integration |

Pat Jordan's A False Spring is a great book, a coming of age story that happens to center on baseball.
I also really like Bill James' Guide to Baseball Managers. If you like his Abstract, you'll like that too. |

Any of Dirk Hayhurst's 3 books, although the best of the 3 is his first one The Bullpen Gospels.
