Star players being released mid season

I'm having a problem in my league where good, starting players are being released mid season. I've attached a screenshot showing one glaring example; this guy is one of the best hitters in my league but he was flat out released after 34 games despite putting up a 1.098 ops.

This same player was also released after the 1954 season as well.

I don't play with finances so it wasn't a $$$ decision either.

Anyone else running into things like this?? Thanks.

Now that I look at this more closely, both releases of that particular player occurred after fairly long (both 6 weeks) DL stints. Maybe OOTP isn't handling that correctly?

Another kick in the teeth regarding this guy... he played the 1954 season with Matterhorn, was released late in the season, and then signed with Oceanport (on the last day of the season so he didn't get any ab's). Then during the offseason, Oceanport traded him to Wichita for a solid RP and a middle infield prospect.

Come on!

No clue, I've never seen anything like this. I suggest posting this in the bug report thread in the tech support forums and upload your league files (see first post in that thread for instructions).

Do roster limits come into play? Seems unlikely since you don't have finances, but if you don't have an expanded roster for example that might cause a move when player value changes.

What about scouting and player development? Is it possible that TCR matched with re-scouting and player development reports changed player value enough to cause these blips?

Just throwing stuff against the wall.

34 games into the season? When is your draft? that might have something to do with it if you have roster limits.
