Markus, I thought 'we' were going to get #2 fixed :-)

Markus, March 5, 2014 Post:

OK, Now I am just getting greedy... Remember my wish list for OOTP14? :-)
Thank You for color-coding HOF'ers in OOTP15 in the retired list!

We have talked for years. Last year I sent you my laundry list for OOTP14. Did any of these make it into 15?

Here is my growing list of suggestions, complaints and bugs.

Suggestions:

1) Color Code retired players list so I already know who is in the Hall, and who is eligible for the Hall. - DONE in 15! Awesome!

2) Automatically create game logs for real-simulation games. I have to go into each game's log just to create them. PAIN!

3) Win-Loss Records for each team in game logs and box scores - Ya did this is a late patch to 14!

4) Change naming schedule for replays, box scores and game logs. Frustrating now that they are just game_box_123.html

5) PLEASE tweak all strategy settings to not SAC Bunt with 1 out unless hitter is BRUTAL (Mark Belanger, Woody Woodard, any current Cub :-( or a pitcher)

================

You replied:

Hi David

I have fixed #2 and tweaked the sac bunt AI. The other issues are not easily fixable unfortunately.

================

You had my hopes up :-)

Now you tell me we (I say we - LOL!) can't fix #2 after all. OH well, OOTP15 is
still better than 14 for me. Interface is nicer. Still having a lot of fun....

Thank You and your crew for all you do! (Even if 'we' can't fix #2 :-)

Why don't you simply set up the game logs to be saved for every game? Or are you talking about having access to game logs from the schedule screen while real time sim is on?

And can we get an option to turn nicknames off?

I have that setting. Problem seems to be the way I 'play' the game. I real-time simulate each day. Box Scores are generated. No .logs are written into the game_logs folder . If I 'click' on the logs 'label' for a game in the real-time-screen and view the log, the .log file is then written.

Under Global Settings I have Save Boxscores, Save Game Logs and Save Replays all set to All Major Leagues

Under Almanac I have archive HTML annually and have everything clicked on and complete reports.

I haven't been 'brave' enough to see if logs will be created when the almanac is. I will try that when my 1893 season ends. (Cap Anson getting old, being platooned now)

One thing I mentioned earlier is the box scores are being left in the game's box_scores folder after being copied to the almanac. This may cause confusion in following seasons...

Thank You for the quick response and for all you do!!!!

Go Germany in the World Cup! :-)

(Never got to see a German 'football' game, did get to watch some Ajax vs Feyonard matches in Amsterdam and Rotterdam...)

Yeah!!! You did fix this :-) Even though the logs (unlike the box scores) do not appear in the game_logs folder during the season, they do get written into the almanac! Thank You!

Now I am getting picky again - LOL! Log Files again...

I lived in Europe so I know the practice there is Chicago vs New York when Chicago is the home team. But I grew up in Alabama. In the logs, can we change that to New York at Chicago instead? And you put the won-loss records for each team in the box scores when I requested that. Can we get that put in the logs too???

Thanks Again!!!! You Rock!

Go Cubs! Go BoSox!
