Inter league Play

Was wondering if OOTP 15 has Interleague play like AL teams play NL teams like they do in real life?

The MLB Quickstart defaults to include interleague, but you can always disable it. And if you're doing a fictional league, you have the choice as to whether or not you want interleague.

EDIT: Though I should note that the schedule will go wonky if you disable Interleague in an MLB league. Since there's an odd number of teams in each subleague (15 and 15), it requires Interleague to be on, otherwise one team in each league will have no one to play. You'd have to go back to the 14/16 split from a few years ago if you wanted to disable Interleague. But otherwise, you can do whatever you want.

I don't think it crashes the game, though. The schedule will have odd off days, 4 or 2 game series, etc. but if this doesn't bother you the game works fine. At least V11-14 did.

You might want to correct that or no team will play 162 games.

True, I never said it crashes the game, just that the schedule would go wonky on you.

Did you generate a new schedule after you did the expansion?

It would have been helpful to mention that change. Edit: the even teams per league.

With a 16/16 league then the default schedule may be non-interleague. Regenerate the schedule with inter-league play checked.

League settings/options on the RHS near the top. You have to be in the offseason or pre-season.

Sorry, didn't mean to put words in your mouth but if newbies came along I didn't want them to think the odd scheduling will break the game.

since i cant do inter league play with 32 teams i was wondering if i delete a current team and create a expansion team would that 30 team inter league thing still work?

For example if i delete the Washington Nationals and create the Montreal Expos to bring the total back up 30 teams would it work... also if i delete washington would it move all of those players to UFA... The only reason why i ask is because i dont really want to have 4 expansion teams in 1 season.

You can have interleague with 32 teams, I have a 32 team fictional league and do interleague every year, just download a schedule from the mods section and import it, I use it then manually change some games every year so it's not the same year after year, it's pretty easy to do as well.

You have to have the correct number of teams in each division to correspond with the schedule you import, for example 565 means 5 in east 6 in central and 5 in west, I can post a link when I get home as an example.

I'm having the same issue as Sabres2000, I expanded my league to 32 teams and since then can't get interleague play to work. (via generating schedules in Pre-season)

I just tested it a little bit and I can't add two more teams (1 each in NL/AL) to create 34 teams cause it says there would be an odd number in the sub division. I don't remember this being a problem in OOTP14 and I find it weird that it works with 30 teams, but can't be done with 34.

(Deleting two teams to make 30 teams with each league having 15 teams has also generated no interleague play.)

Is this a bug? It seems strange that you can create a new league and have interleague with an odd number in NL/AL, but expanding then loses the ability to have it.

Well, the reason Interleague works with a standard MLB setup is because the MLB Quickstart uses the real-life MLB schedule - it's not game-generated. When you expand, you change the league setup, so the game generates a new schedule for you. However, the fact that it's not generating Interleague games is a problem. I have no idea what could be causing that. I'd submit a bug report, and then it's probably best to just use a custom schedule until this gets fixed.

You need to make sure you have a 32 team 162 game schedule with interleague play in it. OOTP does not generate interleague schedules on it's own if I'm not mistaken. It needs a schedule file.
