Really surprised this guy didn't choose Football....

Was really surprised when his name popped up in a trade report

Maybe he wants to steal bases instead of crab legs.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

In case you're wondering, yes, Jameis Winston is in the Majors quickstart. This wasn't a fake made by the OP.

Russell Wilson is in there too, actually he's in the main DB....I found him on one of my AA teams, and yes I know the Rangers drafted him out of college a few years back. So that's how he keeps in shape during the football offseason??

Yeah, he actually was present a few days working out with the Rangers this spring after the big win.

I thought Jameis pitches as a closer for FSU. Does he play in the field as well?

He's athletic enough to play the field, at least.

I want to say he's also a shortstop... but they have him concentrate on pitching. Only if memory serves but it makes sense, the best athletes are usually shortstops up to this point in his life...

He's both a RP and OFer, though he didn't play as much in the OF this year as last. Pretty sure he's never played inf, at least not in college.

He's primarily a pro caliber prospect as a pitcher, given that he can't really hit at all, but has first round caliber stuff. We'll have to change him to reflect that. Will also have to do some stuff to try to make him essentially unsignable, though that may be tougher.

He should be set as retired Will have to check on that.

EDIT: I guess he's actually on Round Rock's restricted list. So he's set in the db as having a long term injury to get as close to that status as is possible in OOTP.

Oh OK, that's fine then....before I started my league I reset all the injuries and suspensions, so that would explain why he's actually playing then. It's not just to stay in shape during the NFL offseason...LOL

He fancies himself a center field prospect in the bigs but he ran the 60 in the 6.8-6.9 range, which is more along the lines of a corner outfield prospect. Most MLB scouts I saw referenced during his recruiting seemed to think he'd eventually land in RF (provided he can hit with a wooden bat, of course).

Yeah. I don't think he's even played CF at all for FSU. You probably aren't a pro CF prospect if you can even get a game there in college

Realistically though I doubt any MLB team would draft him as anything other than a pitcher, so it's probably a pretty academic point.

He was told that he couldn't play baseball, but his record with the word "no" is...subpar.

I've seen a number of the FSU games this year...they aren't using him very much in the field but when they do its in the OF...his hitting....leaves ....well....there is room for improvement...

I let the AI draft for me after the fifth round, and I ended up getting him. I have him as an RP instead of an OF, though.
