Had a nightmare first draft with my team

I started a fictional league, simmed 10 years, deleted the history, then took over a team. As you can see in my first draft with the team I was only able to sign one pick from the first 5 rounds. Not very ideal for a rebuilding franchise. I lost the 1st round pick thanks to an AWFUL FA signing right before I took over. It was a backup corner infielder I ended up trading a month or two into the season. Rounds 2, 4, and 5 were guys that said signability was impossible. I wasn't too worried because I have another file where I haven't had issues with them. But this time, I meet all three of their demands, but apparently that wasn't enough as they all broke off negotiations before I could even try a second time. At least those 3 guys roll over as comp picks next year but still, I feel almost embarrassed to have a draft this bad.

I find that in my fictional league I have no real reason to sign anyone past the 2nd round. (Note: I only have 5 rounds)

The Player probably wanted to finish there last year of HS or college because thats what happen in my Solo league
