Forum Stickies

In looking at some of the stickied threads in the forum it appears that there are some which are no longer active. There has not been a substantive post in the Historical Facegen Project Completed thread nor the CubbyFan's 2011 Roster Set thread (for OOTP 12) since 2012. If these are still being readily referenced I don't have a problem leaving them at the top of the forum, but if not I'd rather let them slide down the thread list. If enough users ask to keep them at the top I'll leave them where they are, otherwise I'll un-stick them next week.

I'm also interested to hear if there are other threads in this forum that are frequently referenced which should also be stickied.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

I'd recommend the PhillieFever Completely Updated Facegen pack be given a sticky, as it's an updated and improved version of the aforementioned Historical Facegen Project Completed.

It appears that there are currently two facegen threads near the top of the forum:

Completely Updated Facegen Pack (PhillieFever)

The Facegen Thread (Lukasberger)

Pardon my ignorance of the ongoing facegen projects, but are these related to the same project or are there independent facegen packs being compiled in each thread? I'm just trying to determine if one of these two could be used as the primary facegen thread going forward or if multiples are required.

I believe there was a post in the PhillieFever thread where PhillieFever indicated that all of the work from lukas's thread was included in what he compiled. I'm not sure if he's regularly updating it with the new updates in lukas's thread, though. One of those two might be able to say better.

It's not really a matter of better per say, there's tons of overlap between the threads. The facegen thread I started is focusing on modern faces for the MLB quickstart.

The historical facegen thread I started here here is focused on improving Gambo's historical faces.

Philliefever's thread complies the faces from Gambo's historical pack and (I think) the AIO but updates and improves those with stuff posted in the two threads above. It's more of a compilation project than a project working on actually creating new faces.

So all three threads are quite valuable imo and probably all deserve stickies. If you were only to sticky one, then maybe Phillie's thread would be the way to go (assuimng he posts regular updates) since it'll probably include most of the stuff posted in each of the other two threads.

I guess my only question would be how best to serve the need of the forum members who utilize these threads. Would it be better to sticky one thread and drive the activity there, or have multiple threads with different projects? I'm not involved with fg so I'm looking for input from the fg leads (Lukasberger, Gambo, PhillieFever, others?) and active fg generators, who are much better suited to determine the best strategy for your project(s).

To be clear, I didn't mean which was the "better" thread, I meant that one or both of you guys might know better what the differences between your threads were. Certainly you're both doing terrific and valuable work, not to mention Gambo for getting the ball rolling on it in the first place.

I've stickied two of the current fg threads:

Completely Updated Facegen Pack (PhillieFever)

The Facegen Thread (Lukasberger)

At this point I elected not to sticky the Gambo thread, as it appears more of an informational thread and less-used as an active posting/sharing thread. If I'm wrong and that thread should be shown at the top of the forum as well, please let me know.
