customization of OOTP is what brought me here

Hi. I am new to the forums, but not new to OOTP. I bought an earlier version of OOTP that I saw in a computer store while vacationing in the Philippines. Anyway, I am looking forward to OOTP 15 and creating leagues the way I like. Recreating baseball history or creating an alternative baseball universe is what I like, especially with the addition of 3d stadiums. I was a fan of MLB The Show, but I feel the makers of that game limit the customization by making their customers go online to create custom leagues. Okay, enough about my rant. I am happy to be part of the OOTP community.

Welcome to the forum. It's a good community, and if you have any questions (or any answers for newbies and oldies alike), fire away.

I had come to OOTP from High Heat 2003 back in June of 2010 when High Heat forums died out. OOTP has let me fully recreate a league that I have had since I quit playing with GI Joe back in 1988 when I turned most of them into baseball players. I had left off with 2038 on HH2K3 but found it easier and much more fun to start back at the beginning in 2003 with the Endor Baseball League. I am in 2020 now and loving it. see more here:

Welcome to OOTP, say goodbye to any life you had before it.

MLB The Show makes me sick. Why can't I max out my RTTS player if I want...no instead I must pay $150 for additional points or spend hours and hours or tedious play to turn my terrible rated player into someone half decent. What a joke all in the name of Sony's profit. OOTP allows me to freely cheat without punishing...it's all in the name of fun and I love that. I remember when games came with cheats, now you need to pay for them. ootp comes with it's editor to customize everything. Nothing beats it...of course you can't compare the show and ootp, they are entirely differnent games and developers...ones in it for pure profit and the other still seems like a passion.

The App Store eventually brought me here I love the game so much. It's so simple, yet so intricate. It reminds me why I fell in love with video games and baseball in the first place!!

I haven't played a console/'arcade' baseball game in a long time. I'd like to, but I'm not a big gamer, and I wouldn't get a console just so I can play like MLB:TS and like three other games. But, in terms of customisation, OOTP beats not only 'arcade' baseball games -- which, tbf, aren't really going for that anyway -- but literally every other sports game, sim and 'arcade', that has ever been produced.
