1903 just finished up in the Baseball League. Fulham have won the Second Division going away, earning a bid to the top tier quite handily. Frederick Sexton, of course, just won Manager of the Year.

He talks a bit about it being "rocky" "in the beginning" of the season, during which the fans "really gave it" to him (green oval):

I don't know what team's "fans [were] really [giving] it to" Sexton "in the beginning" of the season, but it couldn't have been the fans of the Fulham Cottagers!

What season is your second screenshot of? Can it be the season after the award? Because in the news there is no 12-1 but 71-31, and the lines in the news would perfectly suit 71-31.

Maybe they lost on Opening Day and the fans wanted to ride him out of town on a rail for that.

This is the biggest reason I am not fan of all the effort to add "immersion" stuff to the game. Most of the time it backfires and results in hurting immersion rather than enhancing it.

I think the game just writes random stuff. Half the quotes are the same and don't make sense. One time I shopped a player and traded him ten seconds later, the GM of the other team says that we made the deal after hours of talking. Also things like a new GM having a "long climb" with his club who just won 90 games.
