Logo Type Poll

Which is better for OOTP?

I've always contended it would be nice two have two types of logos...those that are larger for team pages, and those which are smaller for logos such as the standings pages.

I would too...it would be great to have the option to display both.

Off topic a bit...for anybody in the know...Is Chris Creamer making it tougher to convert logos into .png format?...particularly with newer logos?

or is it me?

Actually, you can have your cake and eat it, too, but OOTP doesn't make it particularly easy.

All the logo files get stored in the news/html/images/team_logos folder in your saved game. Team logos that get loaded into OOTP get saved several times in different dimensions. The file name is of the format <team_name>_<size>.png. I'm not sure of all the places, but the game and HTML reference specific sized images at certain times. You could go in and find the smaller sized ones and give them a less detailed logo. Just know that if you update the logo in game, it'll overwrite any changes you made manually.

I cannot seem to convert it to a .png file...I am always getting an error message, yet other images are fine.

I do this, but can't seem to get the standings logos to work.

I use different 16x16 logos that are used on the team menu.

I do see some png images from sportslogos.net that are not in RGB mode, so you do have to watch for that, but in this case all is good.

I figured out why I can't change the standings logos and others.

I, myself have to say I think I like either cap logos, or those that take up space, and are not to "scripty". This is the thing I hate about baseball logos. No other sport does this...it makes logos look odd and smallish...at least within OOTP.
