When to switch versions, update league

This was a tough thing to search for, so believe me that I definitely tried!

1) I forget when it's best to switch from one game to the next...is it Jan 1?

2) Same question about changes to the league structure, rules, etc. Jan 1?

You can switch to the new version at anytime.

Everyone has their own preference as to when. Some do it right after the WS. Some on Jan 1st. I always convert as soon as I have the new version, regardless of date.

League structure can only be edited during pre-season.

what ^^ said. As of right now i plan on converting at opening day of my next season. i have 1 World series game left. By the time i get everything done and up to OD and then work on projects for other people 15 will be out. I have converted after the WS which is when Markus recommends you convert June 5th May 24th OD and ASG.

im confused are u gusy talking about switching from 14 to 15 or from one verison of 14 to the new update..

For online leagues NEVER convert in season for version x to x plus one

For online lgs if the the commish upgrades to a new patch EVERY owner has to the same and commish and owner MUST do it at the same time between sims (sim occurs, commish updates, ALL teams must patch before updating and exporting)
3. NEVER switch to new version before at least 2 patches (preferably 3) to new version

Been playing online since OOTP 3 and not following the above has resulted in lg issues in 1 or more lgs EVERY time the above are not adhered to

I'd say those are isolated problems. Have been in plenty of leagues where owners/commish have updated at different times and not seen these issues at all.

Did you report in the bug forum when these things occurred?

No I did not,I was not the commish, it did not happen every time and I did not have all the details (who patched and did not, when they did, etc)

I just meant it as a guideline to follow, not following the guidelines in my 11 yrs of being in online lgs 'sometimes' causes issues

I was talking about converting from 14 to 15, maybe I misunderstood. For patches it doesn;t matter I do recommend doing a back up before installing it.
