schedule problem in fictional league

I just finished year three of a fictional league. the structure is 20 teams, 2 leagues, 2 divisions per league, 5 teams per division. 154 game schedule.

the problem is that the game appears to refuse to schedule interleague games. I have check the box for interleague play, and run seasons both with balanced and unbalanced schedules, yet interleague games aren't scheduled.

is there anything I can do short of writing my own schedule template?

OOTP doesn't have the ability to create interleague schedules.

I know there are a couple schedules using your setup and interleague play that come with the game. You may have to change the total games played though, as I don't think they support 154 games. Go to edit schedule and choose the option to import schedule----you will be able to look through all the available schedules.

If I remember right(again at work, so I'm guessing) there is a schedule for that setup that uses a 162 game schedule and features interleague play.

Not sure about that - I have created schedules in OOTP with interleague games.

Otherwise, why would the option be there to create them if OOTP won't?

For the OP - did you have interleague games in your first 3 seasons?

When you try creating a schedule are you deleting the old one first?

You probably just got lucky and there was a schedule that supports your setup among the schedules that come with the game. If there is OOTP will use it. Example--if I create a sixteen team 2 subleague league and select to play a 158 game schedule. If I check the box for interleague play, and hit generate schedule, I will get a schedule that features 126 games in league and 32 interleague games. Not because OOTP just created the schedule, but because it is one of the schedules that come with the game.

Here is a schedule that matches your league setup, but it is 162 games. Just load it in the game and then delete 8 games.(this can also be done in NOTEPAD) After this is done change your settings to 154 and reload the schedule. After loading the schedule check the schedule file by using the Evaluation selection to verify that you have 154 games scheduled.

No reason to reinvent the wheel, I have a compilation of about 700 schedules that were created and converted to work with OOTP2006 and on. The file has not been updated since OOTP2007/OOTP 8, but still has the same format that OOTP uses now. 300+ schedule are the same files that are in the Mod section created by GMO. The others are from various schedule makers.

I've never even thought about the deleting games thing before. Learn something new everyday.

Created a 154 game schedule. Try this one out and let me know if it will meet your needs. I don't create custom schedule anymore but I thought that this file needed to be done for those with 154 game seasons.

OOPS do not use this file I found an error in it. Please use the fil in the next post.
