Could we have some way of just stopping the AI from sending us trades?
Please. Please stop. I don't want your crappy catchers, I know I'm weak at catcher, it's called "I'm rebuilding and want zero salary on my books".
I wish there was some way to let the AI 'know' that I'm intentionally weak everywhere and do not want to upgrade via trade.

Nice suggestion.
I would love the TEAM FOCUS selection to be linked to many more things, this potentially one of them. As I understand the definition in the manual, the team focus setting seems to be best used as a flag by the AI teams to show the human player what they are more likely to be doing with respect to possible trades, etc. But not so much as a signal to the AI about what the human player might be doing. And if I'm wrong, even better - it just needs tweaking. The setting is already in the game so would it be possible to link that setting to the OP idea? If I set my team to REBUILD then there would be no point offering me old broken down catchers, etc., but instead younger players in order to secure one of my vets from an AI team in WIN NOW mode? Or maybe even trading a minor for a minor position where they feel weak? Again, might just need a tweak... Especially useful when shopping players, but also very useful when in the trade window itself. Same drop down could be used to signal the owner that he might want to give me another year if I am in REBUILD mode? Or up the stakes if I am in WIN NOW where I have to do well or face the consequences? And also up the stakes for being focused on one thing yet doing the other!!! Or for staying in NEUTRAL for year after year!!! Maybe there's a mood shift by the owner if you flip-flop mid-season too many times (trying to game the system, if that's how you roll). Maybe there's some kind of term attached to the focus so once you set it you have to stay there for a defined period OR until a benchmark date in the season - trade deadline, off-season, pre-season, etc. That setting could also be used when going after free agents! Big-time veterans would be much, much less likely to ever entertain a contract offer from a team with rebuild focus and every superstar should lean to a win now team. It might even be tied to your personnel, where an established veteran coach/manager may not (or may) lean toward a rebuild or win now and may not be interested in a neutral focus? There are probably more ways to make use of this and since the team focus is already in the game I hope (I have no actual idea) it might be that much easier to make happen??? |

it's just an email, you could ignore it, like all other ones. i also like the fact it tells me which of my prospects have value in AI's view. not saying you don't have a point, but getting targeted offers is way more important to me than reducing unwanted emails Last edited by le receveur; 02-02-2014 at 02:37 PM. |

Manager options
Turn this off - you won't be interrupted during sims and trade offers will just expire if you ignore them. _ |

I do remember the ability to tweak the trading frequency which was helpful. Would like to see that reintroduced (unless I missed it somewhere).
