Just keep playing. The difficulty level decreases inversely to your increasing experience. Doing anything else may reduce your enjoyment of the challenge.

There is not one good strategy, there are about 6,000. First you have to figure out why your team is losing.
I know nothing about the Yankees in the MLB quickstart. It is entirely possible that they should lose. They have aging stars well past their prime and bloated contracts. They may just suck. How far into the season or dynasty are you? 1 week, All Star break of 2013 or 5 seasons? This is critical information. 1) Do you know why? Are your pitchers getting shelled and your offense cannot keep up? 2) Is your offense HRs and nothing else? 3) " " getting hits but a low OBP and no power? I could list a bunch of questions but they would just be shots in the dark? I would start with looking through your teams rankings for offense and pitching. See where you rank. Do you know how to post screen shots?
