Manager Settings

I can't find this being addressed, so here goes.

Why is it that if I go to a team's manager screen and look at the settings they are at various plus or minus positions. I would assume these are the computer manager's preferences. However, if I click on "Have manager set all linups" or some variration, there settings all change. If I ask the bench coach, they change again. From then on, I can toggel between the two, but why are those original settings that are neither manager or bench coach preferences there for computer controlled teams?????

This is just speculation, but could it be the settings from the previous manager and they just haven't changed since the new manager came in?

It's simulating being the manager.

Choose your line-up or just be the GM. The game doesn't care.

The issue is that the adjustments do not match the manager until you hit ask the game to ask him.

Before I begin the exploration, let me clarify, Ranger. You're talking about the Team Strategy page on AI-controlled teams, correct? I'm asking because the "Have manager set all lineups or some variation" would infer a different page altogether. The "various plus and minus" positions phrase tells me we're talking about the page I've mentioned.
