Player's Arbitration Demand

Is there a way to see what the player's arbitration demand is? The Arbitration Screen just show's the team's estimate, right? IRL the team and player exchange figures before the hearing.

Billy, of the 20,000 notable players for us to consider, I believe that there is a championship team of twenty-five people that we can afford, because everyone else in baseball undervalues them."

I'm pretty sure there is not a way to see this. The best you can do is offer a bit below the arbitration estimate and hope for the best.

interesting. do you ever win? i find arbitration awards are usually above the estimates, so i usually offer a bit more. must say that i only go to arbitration with strong performer who i couldn't reach a deal because they were looking for too long a commitment and too much overall money. all other guys i settle or non-tender.

I haven't been through arbitration recently, but from memory, I think I won about half of my arbitration cases. Granted I never lowballed players. I would typically offer about a half million below an estimate of 5 million, and it spread out from there both ways(if arbitration was only 1 million, I'd offer 900 or 950K). Every penny helps! It seemed to even out with the cases that I would lose, so it does help stay in budget a little bit.

I have stopped trying to work deals with players, I let them all go to arbitration because I found that I could never sign them close to the arbitration estimate. Although this was based on older versions of the game and I do not believe I have revisited this in OOTP 14 yet. I think I'll give it a try, you have inspired me.

I try to avoid arbitration, but I've won perhaps 20% of the time. Even that may be generous.

interesting. i felt i had to offer above to win, from a couple of major loss in early years... but yeah, i generally lock guys in during the 3rd year, usually just above the Arbitration estimate for next year, for 2-3 years plus a vesting option (found those were easier than team option). and those who i can't come to agreement, i trade away usually. so only guys i go to Arb with are relievers.... so like you, i might have to test (and if i lose, i"ll just reduce my development budget)

i'm small budget team, so top tier FA are out of my range.
