Relief Pitcher with ERA over 100

Only one game in and this guy has an ERA of 108.11

Realistically speaking, should I offer him a long term contract now while he his stats are horrible?

I doubt it would make a huge difference this early on.

This.

A guy's not going to ask for a massive contract just because he has a 0.00 ERA after going 1/3 of an inning. And therefore, he's not going to accept a bad contract just because he let up 4 runs in that same sample size.

The first 1-4 games of the season are so much fun for people who like to see 'weird' stats.

-30 IsoDs, ERAs in the hundreds (or infinity), batters hitting .750, OPSes in the 3.000+ range...

That's probably the most likely reason I posted it, I think it's "cool/odd/interesting" to see stats that are so far out of the norm. He is a beast and after 4 games his ERA is back down to 9.82 as he hasn't given up another run after pitching in every game so far. I might just use him until his arm falls off as relief pitchers seem to be more than plentiful.

the ".11" part is interesting also....

as for negotiating, i have found i needed a "mood change" for it to be meaningful.

I always enjoy this, as well as looking at the projected stats after a few games. Always fun to see a batter projected to hit .750 and drive in a few hundred runs

My favorite was a player in my most recent season, who was projected to hit 324 home runs on the year after a 2-HR first game of the season.

I hope you give him the contract he deserved
