A couple from me.....

1) It seems in most leagues I run that have a DH the back up catcher is the back up DH. Now I'm not saying it doesn't happen IRL, but does every AL team use their back up catcher as their back up DH?

2)The ability to retire numbers for teams and also league wide.

I know these get done because... I'm back from the future!

Holy crap, I never noticed this, but I just checked my league, and you're absolutely right. There's only one team in my MLB league that has a position other than C or 1B as its backup DH. I mean, it makes sense in a way, since those are traditional power positions, but it still seems odd.

I think the main thing here is that the AI can't handle putting a starter as a backup. Because in real life, if your DH has the day off, you very rarely see a bench player slotted into that position. It's generally another starter, and then the bench player takes that starter's position in the field (since most bench players are traditionally better fielders).

I've never paid attention to uniform numbers. They're just fluff to me, so I'm very ambivalent about this. That's only my opinion, though.

Basepaths? Where we're going, we don't NEED basepaths.

3) Umpires having their own stats. So some have a big strike zone and some have a smaller one. Also some umpires have a quick trigger finger when it comes to ejecting players/managers.

4)Managers getting ejected(don't think I've ever seen one get ejected)so having a bench coach means something.

5)Brawls, I know why they're not in the game but with death, drug suspensions etc in the game pretty please add some good old fashioned brawls.

6)When you 'hit a batter' can it be more intentional/violent than it appears at present. I was playing a game the other day and my best hitter git hit by pitch and had to leave the game, I then threw at their best hitter and got the 'that grazed his uniform' text. I don't want to graze his uniform I want to hit him.

I guess I was not aware they were not in the game. Doc, you know why they are not and maybe others do, but I sure don't. Why?

I do know they used to be in the game and they definitely should return. Otherwise we are deprived of priceless moments like this one, from v6.5: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ical-game.html

And so many other instances are in play as to how/why players get injured both on and off the field, so brawl-related injuries should occur (maybe injuries do reference brawls that aren't part of play-by-play; I don't know).

As long as #3 is optional then i am all for it. Droids are my umpires so there is no arguing balls & strikes. They call it like it should be. (at least thats how i have to pretend it is)

All for #4. Used to love in TLR3 that you could argue with the ump and if you pushed things to far you got booted. I think High Heat had it also and once you were ejected the AI took over. It was a great way to finish up a game and go off to do other things.

5 used to be in the game I have not seen it in 14 but I had several in 13. Han Solo and Luke Skywalker went after back to back pitchers. Han shot 1st. Luke used the force. I see players get suspended for brawls often in the news, mostly minor leaguers.

As far as 6 maybe he had to have better command. How many times did it take Dempster to hit A-Roid?

I'm all for this one. Especially, because in most situations the pitchers intent is obvious and it should reflect that in the PBP. There are still brawls in the game but I think they only happen after a HBP and then only the batter and pitcher are the one's that end up getting suspended. Occasionally, it would be nice if other players ended up brawling too and getting a suspension. Manager ejections used to be in the game back when you had the option to argue a call.

This one's interesting. While I suspect it's not in the code, and confirmation bias is probably at play, I've taken note how often a HBP occurs following a home run. In addition, how often that pitch results in an injury to the batter and I've even added a note to the player's history when this occurs. Suffice to say, I've made the note more often than I'd expected. But the text would be served well to occasionally infer the intention, followed with a possibility of ejection if suspensions are turned on in the game.

I would like to see an option for DH usage in TEAM STRATEGY. HR PWR/CONTACT or AVOID K's. (using batting stats for that matter.)

2)The ability to retire numbers for teams and also league wide.
YES! More fluff, I agree, but imagine for Online Leagues... GMs would want to have retired numbers. (They should set an option like the HOF requirements for numbers to be retired).

3) Umpires having their own stats. So some have a big strike zone and some have a smaller one. Also some umpires have a quick trigger finger when it comes to ejecting players/managers.

If they add this feature, I want us to set a % of precision for Umpires across the league. Leaving it at 100% wouldn't change the game at all. it would be the OOTP that we know. They could also make an options for "Umpire's tolerance" for players/managers arguing calls.
Exemple: 80 (out of 100) for calling a strike, a strike. That would be a game changer and single players MAY HAVE to take a swing because of the probability.

4)Managers getting ejected(don't think I've ever seen one get ejected) so having a bench coach means something.

Yeah I think it's in the game. Could be wrong, but if it's in there, it would be difficult to "set" the strategies. You would have to create strategies based on that coach. I think it would be useless and too deep.

MGRs getting ejected has not been in the game over the last 4 versions. I can not speak to any version prior to 11. 14 has historical MGR strategies. Weaver, TLR, Al Lopez etc. I dont see how strategies would matte for ejections. i thought every coach already had strategies not just the MGR. I'll double check in a few. I will come back if I am wrong.

Ok!

About Managers, they do have strategies, but my experience comes from a day-to-day sim. So we often play with our strategies (overriding the skipper in most case) but lets pretend the game HAS manager ejections, we could assign the hitting coach or anyone else on the managing staff that would come as near as our team play style.

Just like you would do your lineup:
Manager 1: Actual coach (would be impossible to switch it)
Backup Manager 1: (drag staff member here)
Backup Manager 2: (drag staff member here)

It would come in handy when we sim games without playing them for one or several days. The off-season would also require more attention when hiring personnel because of a certain chemistry for the staff to work together.

Nothing too complex here, just something fun that could play in terms of "environment" in the locker room and a tiny - just a tiny bit on the field.
We could use the "Work Ethic" stat to show how much a player listens to the coaching staff during games. So the actual manager would be more or less patient with certain players.

Again it can get complex in no time and it would take away any chance of seeing this happening.
Any thoughts?

7) International FA's it would be nice if the AI teams made a bid for those players too.
