Will just let this speak for itself
This guy spent months making a formula to rank the ATG's ... he posted it on FB and it was torn apart in 5 seconds, he started name calling in about 1 minute, deleted it and blocked everyone inside 5 minutes ... hilarious

I didn't see the criticisms on-line, but if you're going to break fighters into categories before you even start, it's suspect . . . and seven categories of opponents for wins and six for losses? Whatever.

Here is the main problem, he claimed it was a formula, yet his opinion decided quality wins and bad losses ... he claims Jack Johnson only had 9 quality wins therefore not included on the list ... can anyone name 10 quality wins for Primo Carnera? ....
No Sam Langford, Harry Wills, Jack Johnson, Alexis Arguello, Salvadore Sanchez on the list yet Primo Carnera? Look how low Roberto Duran is on the list and Harry Greb behind Jake Lamotta? He has the Klitschko's on the honorable mention list (meaning the qualified for the list but didn't make it) so he is claiming they have 10 quality wins yet Jack Johnson doesn't? Then when you questioned him on it, he claimed if you didn't believe in his list then you were just buying into propaganda, the second time you questioned him he would call you names and block you ... it was hilarious ... |

LOL, that really is the worst list I've ever seen. Of course I've never seen one from Cap.

The amount of time that would of taken shows incredible dedication.
He must of spotted the flaws in the criteria he applied as he plied through compiling the data, but seemingly choose to ignore them to finish it off. What he ended up with is something of nothing. Bobo Olson, 20th place. Willie Pep, 37th place. His alarm bells should of been ringing as soon as he started to get the output from his algorithm.

He's just a clown blogger. I've never read a word of his until he posted that.

I really love the Boxrec.com site, but have you ever looked at their All-Time rankings for heavyweights? Dempsey is ranked below Nino Valdez and Al McCoy....

This guy's list made boxrec look legit ... he didn't have Dempsey on his list because in his opinion Dempsey didn't have 10 credible wins .... but Primo Carnera was on his list

Dempsey is hard to rate properly based on just match data. He spent most of his time as champ not fighting at all, and when he did he carefully avoided the best opponents. He won the title by beating Jess Willard, arguably the worst HW champ of the 20th century, when Willard was 37 years old and hadn't fought in three years. Half of his title defenses were against puffed up LHWs. Watching him on film he looks like an all time great, but rating him on any kind of objective scale based on his results is going to make him come up short.

Willard was a lot better in his day than he's given credit for, especially by those Jack Johnson fans who dislike Big Jess for taking the title away. Willard did something that Vitali Klitschko emulated many years later. The Pottawatomie Giant came back after a 4 year layoff and beat then top 10 contender Floyd Johnson who had gone unbeaten in his previous 17 bouts. Not bad for a guy who never really enjoyed boxing or the limelight.
