Anyone ever have this happen to them?

Signed a couple MR off the free agent list this past offseason and at the January update one went from 4.5 stars to .5 stars and the other from 4 stars to .5 stars. Only thing I can think of is they spent the whole time from Halloween to New Years bar hopping together.

Did those players' specific ratings (stuff, movement, control) change at all? If not then you're still fine.

If I remember correctly they dropped slightly but nothing major.

I do know that the first guys potential went from 4.5 to 4 and the second guys potential stayed at 4.

It's been an odd season all around actually. I dropped 50 mil in payroll, lost my two best players including the reigning batting champion for the season, and somehow my team is 40-17 at the all star break (120 game season). Has actually been the funnest season in recent history.

One online league I was in i signed a 5 star 31 yr old SP to the biggest contract for a SP in the league in November. Come January he was 1 star. Went 2-17 6.45 ERA the season with me. He was 23-6 the season before and was a 4 time POTY. Thats why I hate signing FA prior to January 1st.

OUCH. I'd be way more annoyed if I'd had that happen. I'm only out about 3.5 mil for each of them.

only the star rating dropped, or any on their individual ratings? the star rating could have dropped because other have signed since (not that dramatically, by MP is the most volatile, that's one reason i don't even look at it for relievers)...

also check that AI didn't consider them as SP, where the drop would be like that....

The SP vs MR thing may very well have something to do with it. I cleaned house this offseason after flaming out in the playoffs for the eighth time or so and my rotation was pretty bare. I signed 3 older SP's right before spring training to fill it in after everyone else finished throwing their money around.
