Advice?
Just started a new fictional league. 1975 mlb setup with 3 levels of minors, AAA, AA and A. I normally use reserve rosters. Would like advice on how many rounds my amateur draft should be each year? I have ghost players turned on, but I would like my minors to remain close to as fully stocked as possible. The game defaulted to 10 rounds with enough players created for 11 rounds. Is that a good number or should I increase/decrease? Thanks.

standard practice is 5 rounds per minor league level, plus 5 extra. So in your case
AAA 5 AA 5 A 5 would be 15. So 15 rounds, generate players for 20 |

With 15 and 20, you are having 25% of the generated players going undrafted. That seems awfully high to me..... |

I ran that default setup of 10 rounds + 1 round of leftovers in my Raccoons dynasty for about 10-12 years, but it left me short of talent in the minors.
I use 12/15 instead of 10/11 at the moment. (Almost two rounds worth of picks usually form the supplemental round, so there aren't really 20% of players left over, it's closer to 8%) I might go up to 15/18 soon, though, I still see too little talent in the minors with that dynasty, and that is with OOTP12, which doesn't have anybody past pick #11 a 1-star guy.

I use 15 for my Battle of Endor - Endor League. I have 4 levels of minors and am using NCAA feeder for it. and 25 for the MLB portion. But I am trying to keep from having 2000 FA like I do in my EBL vs MLB league.

My suggestion is a draft anywhere between 15-20 rounds.
A few more rounds will mean one or two top players being generated for your first round, bit the rest will be of little difference. More of personal preference really on a specific number. |

anything between 10-20 will work just fine. I like to run my leagues a bit tight on talent so I use 13
