Importing Historical Players

I'm trying to import a few historical rookies into my MLB game - Koufax and Ted Williams, specifically - and the import runs fine. However, an in-game day or two after the import, the players simply disappear - they're not on the FA list, they're not on my pending offers list, and they're not in the "Show All Players" list. Any ideas on what's happening to them, or what I'm doing wrong?

Are you importing them into the Ammy draft? What happens when you search for them, are they on a team?

I'm importing them as free agents and offering them minor league contracts, which is what their demand is. I've also tried offering major league contracts. Usually one to two days after they're imported, they simply disappear. They aren't in any list or on any team. It's as if the import never happened.

EDIT: I've also tried going into commissioner mode and transferring them directly to my team, just to see what happens. They still disappear.

I have never seen that. I import many players into my league each year. I asked this already but want to clarify. What happens when you use the Search feature to look for them? i still have a feeling they are there, somewhere. Do you by chance have that players automatically retire due to history checked? They would retire before they have had chance to play. Are they showing up on the recently retired list?

I just tried the search function (which I just found, actually - thanks for letting me know there was one; it was up in the corner and hard to see because of the current color scheme) and apparently the computer has been assigning them to teams randomly, maybe based on their history, even after I manually assigned them teams. Very odd.

For some reason they were not showing up in the list of players, or in the transactions page. So there is still an issue; just not the one I originally thought.

Ok When you assign them to a team, what team are you signing them to? ML or minors? Also are you giving them a minor league deal when you assign them to any team? Only time I see the AI release or waive a historical player and assign him to another team is if he isn't that good. I am the GM of the White Sox for my current year, I had planned on just doing Act As and let GM Harold Baines be the GM but after the AI released Fred Jones (Joe Crede) twice I decided to take over as GM. Jones is the only player from my new class of 25 clones that was released from the team I put him on.
