Something I want to do and it won't let me.

I have a pitcher that I want to put in the rotation as the 6th starter to play every once in awhile as a starter but not in the 5 man rotation, I also want to put this player in the spot starter position and also in the mop up reliever position. Sort of make him an all around pitcher. He'll be a starter for the most part but I want him to do mop up duty as well sometimes.

The game won't let me put him in the 6th starter spot without taking him out of the spot start spot and mop up duty. It's like I have to do one or the other but not both.

Is this against the rules of baseball?

It sounds like you're using OOTP13, not 14, because there's no longer any "slots" to put pitchers in; instead there's a list of all your relievers with a drop-down menu for each to select their role.

I don't know about 13, but in 14, this is possible. However, I'm not sure how well the AI would handle it if you sim your games.

PLUS you can allow starters to pitch in relief from the Strategy Menu in League setup but that covers everyone. If you just want this for your own team it is pretty much a hand job!
