Zyberian's Uni

I have done this in the past not quite like this though and since I will have a LOT of free time now (don't ask not injured again but out of work). I am going full bore into this uni.

The setup pits historical AND RFG's (realistic setting) in one ongoing uni. I started off with 64 fighters in each of the historical 8 weight classes and fought them 12 times the worst 32 fighters out of that group were eliminated from title contention. The 32 remaining were in a single elimination tourney for the unified title and to determine the top 12 in the championship group (by rank). To get a stack of 32 contenders a new group of 32 combined fighters went 12 bouts and then a double elimination tourney to decide the top 16. (Basically 16 fighters are knocked out of the title picture from both the journeyman and contender roles every two years). Pretty much the same idea I have been working on for a while 12 fights they are prime 6 fights is pre prime and anywhere from 18 to 30 fights before going post prime.

I have split it into two main groups 0-6 and 7-15 meaning the 7-15's cannot pad their records against the 0-6 group and balance things out in the long run.

So it starts off with 32 fighters going to the rookie group and they fight 6x (3x a year) and then all move up to journeyman and pre prime where they fight 6 rounds instead of four then if they make it 8 rounds in contender and a minimum of 8 in the championship group.

I also moved up the fighters from say cruiserweight to heavyweight and one each with the exception of strawweight where they moved up to bantam.

Had some interesting results so far (I am at the welterweight champions and have 4 to go) and will start posting the results here along with some notable historical fighters in each division so everyone here can follow along.

as promised

As promised here are some results from the championship tournaments

RFG Rommel Buenaventura with a 15-0-2(7) record wins the 0-6 unified title he is rated as a 5 but will face stiff competition with the likes of 11-1-3(2) Henry Flakes.

In the 7-15 group 16-0-0(6) RFG Ron Foster faced 11-4-1(4) Lennox Lewis in the finals. Foster was game but could not match Lewis as lewis coasted to a championship victory and fosters first loss. Other notables include 10-4-2(2) Jack Johnson, 10-2-1(6) Vitali Klitschko and RFG 10-2-1(4) Jesus Hernandez.

In the 0-6 Light heavy 15-2-0(5) Ashley Crawford delivered a thrilling KO to capture the unified 0-6 title over Vincenzo Nardiallo who fell to 10-4-2(4) RFG Argentina's David Mejia checks in with an impressive 12-1-1(2) record.

In the 7-15 group John Henry Lewis leads a tough field as a 12-2-3(1) champion with 12-3-2 Maxie Rosenbloom and 9-4-2(1) Philadelphia Jack O'Brien nipping at his heels. 10-4-2(4) Archie Moore is in the mix as well as is 8-4-2(1) Jimmy Bivins and 11-3-2(1) Lucian Bute. RFG Cuba grown 10-3-2(3) Rafael Medellin leads the group for the RFG's.

over in the Middleweights, Englands second champion 12-4-1(3) Richard Williams faces stiff competition from RFG's Jaiver Moreno 12-2-2(2) Eugene Carson 13-3-1(6) and from Morocco Abdul-Wahid bin Jameel 11-2-2(3)

In the 7-15 group RFG American 11-4-2(1)Lowell Anderson went the distance in a 116-113 decision over 12-4-1(5) Maurice Hope to win the title and is getting immediate notice from fellow American 11-2-1(4) Marvin Hagler.

In the welterweights American RFG 16-1-0(6) Myles Harris delivered a TKO win over 15-2-0(3) Freddie Pendleton 8-3-2(2) Young Corbett is rated 29th overall and barely made it to the championship group.

In the 7-15 group RFG American 14-2-1(6) Howard Hunt (rated 10) is the current title holder but 10-2-4(2) fellow american Floyd Mayweather Jr will have a lot to say in one of the weakest divisions in boxing right now. Henry Armstrong and Oba Carr are making noise in the journeyman group but they are not expected to hit the championship group until 2016.

In the 0-6 lightweight group RFG Twain's own 11-5-1(2) Chua-kah Ts'ai defeated Scottsman 12-5-0(1) Ricky Burns in a thrilling 12 rounder for the title. RFG Puerto Rico Jamie Rivera checks in with a very impressive 13-1-1(7) record and is expected to make a bid for the title.

In the 7-15 group 13-4-0(2) Jose Luis Ramirez breaks the run of RFG victories needing three KD's to record a thrilling 113-111 decision over 14-2-1 Ike Williams. 12-4-0(3) Shane Mosley and 10-3-3(1) Ray Mancini is expected to make noise in this division as well.

In the 0-6 featherweights Bernabe Concepcion struggled through 11-6-0(3) the early stages of his career but went perfect in the tournament for the title. There are no 6 rated fighters in the championship pool and 11-5-0(5) Thailand Sompichai Kratingdaengg will be eying the title with serious interest.

In the RFG Heavy 7-15 group, Phillippines own Bayanai Recio (rated 12) gave the home crowd something to cheer about as he is currently on top with a 14-1-2(2) record beating New Zealand RFG Jerry Kennelly (rated 13) 15-2-0(2) before his hometown people in the Philippines. Cuba's own Kid Chocolate 11-2-1(1) and Baby Arizmendi 10-5-1 leads the historic fighters.

In the 0-6 bantamweight 12-2-3(2) Ju-do Chun brought home South Korea's first title defeating RFG 13-2-2(1) Yasuyuki Okarnoto in Japan. Rafael Pedroza 11-3-0(4), Eden Sonsona 11-3-1(2) and Frankie Duarte 12-3-1(3) leads this talent heavy historical team.

In probably the not so biggest surprise secret 7-15 division only ONRE name stands out Eder Jofre he took home the title with a 9th rd TKO points stoppage to up his record to an impressive 16-1-0(5) mark against Johnny King 13-4-0(8) in England. Johnny Tapia 7-3-3(2) is in the championship mix as well.

To wrap it up in the Flyweight 0-6 group England's RFG Archie Snooks 11-4-2(2) won the title via TKO cuts but is expected to face a challenge from 11-4-1(1) Surachai Saengmorakot

Finally in the 7-15 group Mexico has reason to celebrate as well as Humberto Gonzalez remains perfect 16-0-1(3) but that perfection could be short lived because a 15 rated RFG from Ghana Tariq Were is making noise despite a record of 8-3-4(1) in an otherwise weak division as well. Only four fighters are in the championship group rated over 10. Pascal Perez is currently making noise in the contender group and is expected to advance to teh championship in 2016.

one shocker in the heavyweights so far from the journeyman class Ken Norton was eliminated in the first round of the tournament to pick the final 16 that moves up to contender and thus is out of the title hunt picture.

2014 year

I have finally managed to sim out the 2014 season and have a lot of interesting results, rulings, upsets and a terrific fight of the year. It took me a while due to my situation and will not continue into 2015 until I get settled in a new place (and internet) due to the rommie experiment has ended in colossal failure. I will be breaking this page up in multiple parts due to the many title changes that occurred and will post the PBP of the FOY as well.

Since I started 2014 with the Light heavyweight and Flyweight divisions, I'll start there. In the 0-6 Flyweight the year opened with a stunning DQ to the champ Archie Snooks for constantly leaning on the neck of Ramon Baca and the ref stopped the contest in the 6th rd. Baca is the first Argentine and second RFG to win this title. Baca would go on to defend his title successfully with a 9th rd KO of Marvello Blanco. Controversy followed Baca into his last fight of the year (and can be found under the headbutts and TKO section in the main group) as what was originally ruled a TKO win turned into a NC due to the fight being stopped in the 3rd round of an accidental headbutt. Yasutaka Kuroki is scheduled to face Baca sometime next year for the title.

In the 7-15 group Humberto Gonzalez started off the year with the title made a successful defense via a 12th rd TKO (points) over Lorenzo Parra but lost the title (his first loss stopping his 17 bout win streak) via SD to RFG American Earl Chestnut. Chestnut had a more controversial defense of his title as a headbutt in round three caused a cut and was finally stopped in the 7th round with Chestnut winning the round easily over Viktor Ozarnikov. Viktor was actually leading on one score card and the other two had it even but did not count the 7th round. The rules stated that the 7th round had to be counted and thus Chestnut went from a technical draw to a Technical SD winner. No announcement has yet to me made regarding a rematch. Vitkor is currently ranked 10th out of the top 12 fighters (23rd overall). Ghanas Tariq Ware (rated 15) is being touted for a title bout next year (Chestnut is rated 8).

Over in the Light Heavyweight 0-6 group, Crawford Ashley lasted 4 rounds before being knocked out by Chuck Speiser. Speiser would lose the bout in his first defense via a 10th rd DQ low blow to Salvadore Lopez (RFG Spain) (Speiser was clearly winning the bout on the cards). Lopez first defense ended in a 12 round draw to Steve Griffin. Finland's RFG Aappo Toivenen is the current #1 challenger to the title. Italian Vincenzo Nardillo lost via KO to hurt his chances but he is still in the top 4 with RFG Argentina David Mejia and England's Ashley.

In the wild 7-15 division John Henry Lewis took on all comers after beating Maxie Rosenbloom in the tournament finals. Beat Cuba's RFG Rafael Medellin via 10th rd TKO (cuts) the faced off with legend Archie Moore in a 12 round slugfest in Las Vegas. The bout was back and forth and very close throughout but Moore was called on two point deduction fouls in the final two rounds to give Lewis a MD (114-114 on one card 116-112 for Lewis on the second and 115-114 for Lewis on the 3rd) This fight was considered for FOY but that award went elsewhere. Moore is screaming for a rematch and is currently 4th the payday for the two fighters was a whopping $43,997,600 for each fighter (highest payday of the year). Lewis the set his sights on RFG fighter from the Philippines Felino Castillanes and needed only one minute and 12/12 punches to lay him out. In addition to Moore the other top two fighters are Philadelphia Jack O'Brien and Lucian Bute.

Up next will be the Welterweight and Featherweight.

2014 Welter and Featherweights

2014 was a banner year for 0-6 Welterweight American RFG Myles Harris but it was not an easy one for him. His first title defense was a successful 114-112 split decision over Ricardo Torrez. Then poured it on in his second defense for a 4th rd TKO (cuts) over Tom Carr before earning the nickname cardiac kid surviving an early knockdown to rally to a 114-113x2 and a 114-114 split decision over Arturo Rocha. His record is at a 19-1-0(7) and should have formidable opposition over fellow americans Freddy Pendleton (17-3-0(4)) and Bryan Shaw 12-2-2(6) next year.

In the 7-15 Welterweight fellow American RFG Howard Hurt enjoyed a bit of easier success in his three title defenses winning by either TKO (cuts) or outright KO over his opponents. Andrew Cameron went 12 rounds with Hurt before succumbing to his cuts calling off the fight. Ron Hill lasted only 8 rounds before getting knocked out. Luis Collazo lasted until the 10th round before his cuts over came him giving Hurt a 17-2-1(9) record. Top contender Floyd Mayweather Jr (12-2-5(3)) is not impressed and vows to take the title from Hurt next year.

Over in the 0-6 featherweight group the title changed hands every fight Bernabie Concepcion won in the tournament but met up with a tough Mexican Martin Honorio losing the belt via MD. Honorio lost his belt in his first title defense going only two rounds before the ref stopped further punishment at the hands of RFG from Spain Luis Maldonado. Maldonado lasted six rounds in his only defense of the title before being knocked out by Sornpichai Kratingorenggym. Concepcion somehow is now the #1 challenger and right behind him is Juan Gerardo Cabera and fellow Thai Fashan 3K Battery.

The 7-15 featherweights was exciting and memorable in many ways. Phillippino Bayanai Arizemendy, after winning the tournament, needed only two rounds to dispose of Baby Arizmendi vis KO but lost the title to a vicious headbutt foul in the 7th round to Italian RFG Virgile Viceronte. Viceronte had several options for his first title defense but settled for a Puerto Rican fighter named Juan Manual Lopez. Lopez did not have a great record 8-7-2(3) coming in and Viceronte was rated higher (10-8) but the bout was made and the result was the FIGHT OF THE YEAR.

2014 Middleweight and Lightweight

Continuing on with the Middleweight and Lightweight groups, the action didn't stop and notable fighters make their presence known.

In the 0-6 Middleweights England's Richard Williams was on a roll after winning the title in the tournament and kept on rolling with a stunning 5th rd KO over Morocco RFG Abdul-Wahid bin Jameel and capped it with a 10th rd KO over RFG USA John Tatum. Williams was looking to a 3rd KO on the year and matched up with Syrian Mustafa Hamsho. Williams had trouble focusing on the fight and was knocked down in both the 4th and 5th rounds but refusing to stay down. Williams went down again in the 9th and was wobbly the rest of the way. Hamsho finally delivered a blow to send down Williams a 4th time with 10 seconds to go in the fight but this time Williams stayed down. Puerto Rico's RFG Jaiver Marrero is the new #1 contender and will challenge for the title next year.

In the 7-15 group, Lowell Anderson had a tough first bout defense winning by close 115-114x2 and 115-113 UD over Maurice Hope and not noted as a puncher went the distance against Shawn Snider and 11-3-2 Chris Drake winning both by a comfortable margin. Marvin Hagler is currently ranked 4th with a 13-3-1(6) record but lost to RFG Jamaican Justin Coombs via 3rd rd TKO 11-6-1(3) in a title eliminator matchup. RFG American Trevor Woods 16-3-0(3) is the current #1 contender and is eyeing a NYC fight with Anderson.

In the 0-6 lightweight Chua-Kak Ts'ai fresh off his victory over Ricky Burns in the tournament struggled against USA RFG Todd Fisher but would win the bout via MD. Puerto Rico RFG Jamie Rivera must of saw something in that fight for he only needed two rounds to capture the title as the ref stopped the contest to prevent further damage to Ts'ai. Rivera had options but settled for RFG Macedonian Djordje Srskic. The bout was entertaining and when the dust settled it was Rivera coming out on top by two points on each scorecard for the UD. Rivera has an impressive 16-1-1(9) record and is eyeing Filipino RFG 14-4-1(4) ranked #2 contender 10th overall Edilberto Alonza next year.

In the 7-15 group Jose Luis Ramirez opened his title defense to California Jackie Wilson and in another entertaining bout back and forth but while one judge ruled in favor of Ramirez 116-113 the other two judges saw it 115-113 giving the title to Wilson. Wilson opted to fight Canadian RFG Dave King and it was King early and often cutting Wilson early before finally getting a stoppage in the 10th round to become the first Canadian and RFG to win the title. Kean then opted to accept Ray Boom Boom Mancini's challenge in what a surprising even fight for two rounds but with 1:37 in round 3 this happened as Jim Lampley takes the call.....Mancini takes a terrific shot to the jaw and he turns away.. he is pointing to his jaw, which has already begun to swell and thats going to be it! Kean is the winner by TKO as Mancini can not go on, as it appears his jaw is broken! Xrays later confirmed that the jaw is indeed broken but that is not phazing #1 contender Ike Williams from challenging Kean next year.

Heavyweight and Bantamweight will finish off the 2014 reporting

wow it has been a while

ok well its been well over a year so let me go ahead an update everyone as to what is what...

First personal matters back in 2012 I got the opportunity to move from Tallahassee area Florida to Columbia Tennessee as a nice job opened up for me there. In 2013 I developed a back injury that took longer than the mandatory 30 days to fix. Cause was unknown but Steroid injection directly into the back helped. Where I was working they cut me loose and I pretty much lost everything with some exceptions. When the finances were gone I was looking at all of my meds and thought out loud what the hell why not...cops fire ems all showed up before I took the meds en masse and I was committed (seeing how im a republican that wasnt a far reach anyway) stays 5 days mandatory in the nut house and got sprung to a local halfway type house/center and I met up with someone there that got a huge settlement from ssi disability and became my roommate for a few months until he got drunk off his ass and fought a neighbor and got his sorry butt recommitted (havent heard from him since which is good) anyway I was able to stay until last feburary when the money ran out again and I was forced out my stuff was arranged to stay with a neighbor that I havent heard from in a while.

anyway the bastards a centerstone retook me and thought it would be a wonderful idea for me to stay at some type of a work camp for a few days then send me to the mission shelter in Nashville which lasted 8 hours I BOLTED found a nicer (semi anyway) place called room at the inn and despite putting up with chest beating alpha male orangutangs which the overwhelming majority of them were a bunch of punk ass candy girls thinking they can push me around but quickly found out different. Anyway there actually were some nice guys in there and some of them were telling me about temp agencies and told me where to go to get work (Nashville certainly had the jobs) I found a place that finally got me into a place called Nashville Wire where last september I was hired on full time (I make oven racks basically) and been staying at a nice weekly hotel with wifi and a little fridge and microwave and with my federal bailout aka tax refund got around to getting an all in one computer (which I am on now) and having working day shift I get to relax at night and take in some nhl nashville predator games (in fact a season ticket holder to boot now ) and seeing some very nice country singers at local shows (and yes some of them are very very pretty ) while I miss the old computer (because it had my kick butt universe in it and all of my photos and what not) i'm getting back on track.

Ok so NEW universe and after spending a few days importing fighters from you guys (at least the ones I can use tbdx 3) and resetting things back up i'm ready to dive back in and sadly start all over again but oh well.

Looking back at my notes I started off with 32 historical and 32 RFG fighters fight them a total of 6 times 4 rounds each at beginner then 6 more times at pre prime 6 rounds each the top 32 from that group will when the matched up in a single elimination 3 round tourney and the winner gets the title and the top 11 after that moves up to the championship level where they will fight a minimum of 8 rounds. 10 for co feature and either 12 or 15 for title. The bottom 4 from the remaining 20 will be eliminated which will leave 16. After that a new group of fighters will be selected (16 8 in each group) and they will fight 12 times and after that the 16 fighters will have a tournament of their own where the top 8 moves up and the rest are eliminated which will leave 24 contenders after a two year cycle there will be a contender tournament similar to the ones I have seen on box nation where the top 8 moves up and the winner gets a title shot. In the championship level the top 4 fighters after the second year stays and the bottom 8 gets regulated back to contender. the bottom 8 contenders are eliminated from the title hunt and a new group of 8 from the journeyman tournament moves in.

there will also be one team of beginner journeymen and one group of preprime journeymen since its 6 fights every two years and since the fighters are reset every two years it will keep things flowing

The eliminated fighters will fight 4 rounds at least 6 times a year. maybe more havent decided if i want to do more yet anyway.

The fighters starting out will have default offense trainers and cutmen and default ref who will score the bout much like the box nation tournament. (the default ref will also be used for all tournaments) once they reach contender they will have judges and cornermen. The boxers will age by bouts and with the heavy use of tournaments I have decided on the following 6 bouts to pre and to prime. In prime they will see 36-60 bouts before going to post prime meaning at 6 fights every two years not counting the single elimination tournaments they will be in prime from anywhere for 6-10 years. (which really isn't that unrealistic from what I have seen real fighters go through) 12-24 from post prime to end and six more fights will retire them. Unified rules apply and again since I like the way the 0-6 and 7-15 fighters fight amongst themselves that will stay and there will only be ONE TITLE for each group. (Im also thinking of doing a butterbean type king of the 4 rounders for the eliminated fighters which will have default everything including judges)

Hopefully this uni will hang around a while

To those of you that cheered me up thanks

Now lets get it on!!!!

Well I made a few changes first off dropped the number to 32 from 64 because there is no 64 tourney oh well also because of the LOW number of 7-15 rated REAL fighters I have I am not going to start them until all of the initial tournaments are finished (meaning the RFG will dominate the 7-15 show for a few years ) However when you have 4k of 0-6 heavyweight fighters well.....The 0-6 group is mixed in immediately and just getting ready to wrap up the tournaments and will post results in another link soon (hopefully tonight or tomorrow) hopefully some of you will tune in
