Changing the length of games?
So I just recently got OOTP 14, and the first thing I did was create a fictional league of high school teams from my area. The game has allowed me to customize pretty much anything I want to, which is great. However, there is one thing that I have not been able to change: the length of games. I want to make every game only 7 innings instead of the default 9 innings. Is there a way to do this, or am I stuck with 9?

When I saw the thread title, I was thinking "why would you want to shorten games?" Then I saw your post was like "well, that makes sense."
Unfortunately, this can't be done, but you COULD suggest it in the Suggestions Forum for OOTP 15. It would be a solid addition. |

I would love to have the option to change the number of innings in OOTP 15.

It's a reasonable request but unlikely to be implemented because the core game engine might need to be re-written. Simply said 6 inning and 7 inning games are a different animal.

Exactly. The AI's currently programmed to manage based on a 9-inning game. Changing the length of the game changes a LOT of in-game managerial decisions. So, maybe we'll get this feature eventually, but it would take a lot of work on the developers' parts.
